Can share contact?
Hi. I was under him also. He's good. He can be fierce but fierce is good, so that you will remember your mistakes and not make the same mistake during your TP.

My friends and I were under him and we all passed on our first try, even someone like me whose hands and feet cannot coordinate. haha

Give him a call and see if you're comfortable talking to him. :D

His contact please?
Hi guys, ill recommend mr Tay for those that are looking for a driving instructor in the east. Long story short, I don't face any of the horror stories that are all around the web. Enjoying my driving lessons so far and thanks to Mr Tay's excellent teaching methods, I am quite confident of passing my tp in the first try next month.

I wanted a instructor who can pick me up from my place in tampines but I couldn't find. I took some of the people on this forums advice and contacted le driving instructors and got a lesson fixed up w mr Tay. Thanks for the recommendations guys! Really glad that people are spreading quality services on the web :)

Passed my TP last yr May under Ah suan. The Toyota Vios right? For what you describe, yup i agree of what u said.He did all the things which is true. After 10 over lesson then i changed the instructor to him because my previous instructor went to SSDC circuit at the wrong timeslot end up get suspended, unable to carry on to teach students. No choice but to call up the driving school for other instructor for wdls only left him.So i took him for the sake of taking some lessons under him to re-take my TP.

sorry for the late reply! Yup the Toyota Vios! :) Glad you passed your TP!

hi there, I decided to share my private driving instructor experience, I don't want anyone else to go through this. Don't waste your money, seriously.

NEVER GO TO THIS INSTRUCTOR CALLED AH SUAN. I went to Woodlands Driving School and requested for a patient driving instructor. They gave me the most impatient one:look:

His car plate number is SGV6308A. I remember he didn't take teaching driving very seriously, he would go ask me to drive around aimlessly and would buy 4D often. I was still waiting in the car and lesson time was wasted because he would take 10 minutes and here and there toilet break some more:(

He will scold scold scold you depends on his mood. He delayed going to the circuit. I drove on the road for around 15 lessons? I also had to prompt him to book the driving test, I took 30 lessons before actually booking the test. Usually 20 lessons, and you are able to book the test.

When I failed my driving test for the first time, I smsed him and he merely said, "try again." I didn't even learn emergency brake, a necessity needed for ANY driving test. He is quite unclear with instructions, how to parallel park and vertical park. Never encouraging, always scolding.

There was also a miscommunication for one of the lessons, he said to wait at SSDC for him, which I did, but he was waiting at one of the private carparks. Wating there at SSDC for 15 minutes and lesson time was wasted. Called him but no reply. Finally went over to the public carpark and found him chatting with his friends. Was irritated and confronted him, and he raised his voice inssiting that he was right and didn't pick up the phone as he didn't hear it.

All in all, I just wanna make readers wary of this instructor. Thank you for reading! A good instructor I would recommend would be David, he is very patient, really nice and encouraging!!!! :s13: His handphone number is 97120290 if anyone is interested:D
David Puan? Thumbs up for him too!

Don't worry, he's a very nice person. Took me less than 3 months to get my Class 3 under him.

Just wanna share my experience learning under my PDI so far. (Taking third lesson next week) His name is Mr Lim, phone number is 9772 xxxx.

Honestly, I feel he's reliable because he places importance on being safe and considerate. But I would only recommend him if you feel that you will be able to handle the car well and you have a good grasp of how to be aware on the road.

Because he's NOT very patient. And quite unfriendly; like doesn't make small talk (which is ok lah, I'd rather concentrate on the road then chit chat about irrelevant things), but he doesn't even say hello or smile /: And he hardly talks! I want the instructor to talk and tell me if I'm doing something wrong or right, and what to take note of.

During my second lesson, when I did something wrong, he doesn't go "No, don't do this, the right way is ____" and explain it patiently. He just sighs and says in the most sian voice "I already told you ____, but you don't want to listen to me". I was so freaking shocked I couldn't even say anything. And it made me super pissed. Basically, when you make a mistake he won't see it as a genuine mistake and be patient with you, he will just see it as you not being serious and not listening to him.

Throughout the lesson, he seemed very irritated with me. I admit I am not a fast learner; I know myself well and I already know driving will be a challenge cos it's a LOT of multi-tasking and being very observant. But I was trying hard. And I was very thick skinned anyway, no point being angry, so every time he corrected me in his sian tone, I'd just apologise and say 'Ok, I will remember next time'.

Anyway, long story short, he made me feel very demoralised. What makes it worse is his unfriendliness.

Still sticking with him for now because I feel I can do better and he seems to know what he's doing. I tend to do better under encouragement but I'm thinking maybe the "fierce" teaching method is better for driving so the things get drilled into my head faster.

But if you are looking for a friendly, patient instructor, stay away from him. Knowledge and experience wise, he seems fine. But personality sucks.

Lol. You somewhat described my instructor. Just that he's based in bbdc.

PDI to introduce for class 3 at east side / sengkang

Hi all sis and bros,

Does anyone have a good PDI to introduce to me for class 3 as previously I met up with this ridiculous instructor who always eats in my lesson's time for his own personal stuff, (always late, eg; meet 10am, come at 10:10am, then stop lesson on the dot, like to go toilet break and etc)

Preferably east side/sengkang area, but if really have a good one, I wouldn't mind travelling down to even west side just to learn.

Appreciated.

Can try instructor from Cathay Driving Centre in Bedok. He's name is TKK. I learnt under him previously, first time pass. He uses diagram and pictures to teach parking and etc.
