Yes, you’re measuring time.
But what is time? What are you measuring?
I am measuring Singapore's land positioning and movement on Earth against the Sun and compare to where Taiwan and Japan are at

thought we shift to +8h GMT to sync with HK and China. cuz SG kiasu don't want our stockmarket to open half hour later than HK.

Tldr: We are geographically GMT +7 but since malaysia wanted to have a common time zone for eastern (+8) and western Malaysia (+7), we also followed suit.
I thought was lky who wanted. Cos 12 hours opposite us market.

I remember the 1982 half-hour clock adjustment. I was guard commander that day and had to adjust the guardroom clock forward 1/2 hour. The prowlers were very happy; they only needed to do 2 circuits rather than the usual 3.
