in a nutshell: get a new one; the cost of replacing the screen wouldn't be justified.
if you happen to be able to find somewhere that charges $100+/- for the screen replacement, i'd say by all means go ahead. however, i think it's just damn unlikely you can find such a deal...
don't forget OEMs only provide warranty for hardware defects due to normal use (wear and tear) or factory defects. if OEMs offered warranty for physical damage, people will probably be breaking their laptops on purpose at the slightest dissatisfaction and sending them back for repairs.
when you do buy another laptop next time, you might want to look out for 3rd party warranty that does cover physical damage. but of course, at the cost of additional money, plus you'll only be covered maybe at most 1 time.
take it as an expensive lesson to take care of your hardware.
if you insist on continuing to use it, you can connect to and display only on an external monitor. if you dropped it, check the hard disk as well as you might risk loosing your data.
