How big is your place??
IMHO.
It is not about how big is the place. My 2-nodes mesh is 10m apart with line of sight usually with one door in-between at times. If distance apart, if the line of sight has obstacles e.g. cabinet, full wardrobe, walls, etc there will be significant performance hit.

I have not tested the logic, but if i have 3 nodes, I can make the signal from node 1 go straight to node 2, signal make a 90 degrees turn to node 3. It should be better than node 1 to node 3 with a lot of obstacles in-between.

So cover 99.999% of your place? 😆

Not sure why so many people still doubt that replacing home broadband with a mobile plan works.

I switched from a $45/month (24 month contract) WiFi 6 plan to a $6/month Singtel senior plan in January 2026, and so far so good.

The $200 cost of my router (Deco X50-5G ) has already been recovered.

My SIM card router is placed in the mahjong room (between the living and study rooms), and both my TV in the living room and laptop in the study room get strong wifi signals (180dl/80ul).

I never regret my decision to switch from BB to a mobile plan for home wifi.

I am doing so cause I am Single living alone so it's more practical for me else I won't advise cause you can't really compete the speed to a home broadband at all.

most people using lousy wifi that won't even hit 1gbps wifi speed.

but of course, with fibre plans dropping to low 20+/month, unless the mobile data plan is half price or less, not attractive enough liao.

But it's still practical if your whole family are using the fiber broadband cause if you replace it with a mobile plan, your signal will definitely dropped when every family member are using at the same time.

No matter how, using your mobile phone as a wifi to surf internet on your smart TV or laptop, your signal will sure lose to a fiber broadband network.
