I have a problem with the stock AMD heatsink CPU Fan. The fan would occasionally not spin when the PC boots up. Have to give it a slight push and then it will start working.

I explored the option of changing to aftermarket CPU cooler but all of them are too big to fit into my micro-ATX case. The only option is to find a similar original AMD heatsink or replace the fan.

None of the fans sold in SLS are of the similar size (70 cm). The smallest is 80 cm. Went around the back lane shops looking for a AMD cpu cooler but can't find any. Either it is too old or Intel ones.

e-mail AMD and they too informed that they don't sell replacement parts.

Anyone know what I can do. I certainly don't want to buy a new CPU just for the fan.

Thanks in advance.

It's unlikely you cannot find a replacement AMD heatsink & fan in Sim Lim Square backlane shops.

Probably they don't have a AMD fan alone. You'll have to get a heatsink & fan bundle together. If it's > S$15 probably not worth it also... just walk away & get from the next shop, plenty around.

Thanks guys for all the help.

I'll check the back lane shops at SLS again to see if I can find this CPU cooler. Even AMD Singapore does not sell replacements. Think it would have been easier if I was using Intel.
