Replacement batteries

Sorry if this question has been asked before.

I need a new battery for an HP Elite x2 1012 G2. Normally, I'd order from HP's official partner ServLink. Cost is around S$150/- and takes up to six weeks to order.

Can anyone advise about alternative suppliers? For example HPLaptopBattery.com.sg. They say they have the battery in stock @ around S$62/- with free delivery.

I'm a bit suspicious of cheaper offerings from unofficial sources and I don't mind paying more for a fresh, genuine battery if that is what I am getting. Maybe they are the genuine article or maybe a knockoff. Anyone had any recent experience of batteries from this company or any other supplier to recommend?

Check with unicell. Purchase from them and replaced myself. Lasted reasonable well.

Original one very expensive. Try uni cell at sim like square level 2 for oem one. May be you can buy 3.

Same I bought replacement charger (battery working fine) from UNICELL too as near my home Ubi at Kaki Bukit, for my old Dell Vostro 3750 Notebook.

The other site is from http://www.sgadaptersdepot.com/
which is from China, NO response, cheaper than UNICELL alot, took almost ONE month to deliver. Same as UNICELL, same make.

New battery from this company arrived today and I ran the HP Battery check.

Turns out the battery is 1093 days old manufactured 2018/01/09. Nearly 3 years old and even older than the one I'm replacing!

It is only an issue if the battery is used right? Have you try using battery pro and see the battery is used or not.

HP Battery Check shows a cycle count of 2 but I just thought that after 3 years the battery is sure to be chemically degraded. I wouldn't have complained about 6 or 9 months - but 3 years?

I don't suppose it's any use trying to buy from another supplier. They probably all have similar old stock.

BatteryBar pro is a free app which sorta show how much actual battery is left. I tried it on my new laptop and it works pretty well.

You can dl the simple version for free. Then it asks you to try Pro version for a month. Say yes and you can check if that battery is good or not.

They sell reconditioned battery.

Well, they say this battery they sold me is an "original" HP battery. It's just that it was manufactured when the tablet was still in production ie 2018.

They also say it's "new" but that just means they haven't sold it to anyone yet. They offered me a refund.

Even HP can't or won't confirm the age/date of manufacture of a so called "new" battery despite the S$200/- price.
