I assembled two systems, 1st a P67A-C45 board + i7-2600k with 16GB RAM and 2nd, a H67 series + i3-3120 back in 2011.

both systems encountered randomized system restart, sometimes in an endless loop (auto on, then off, and looped). The H67 experience this much more frequently. When the symptom does not strike, the systems can go on almost a day w/o any problem.

today went to check the H67 @ SLS. stress test found the north bridge had spoil. had to be replaced, but the MB that supports 1150 chipset in the market is no more longer in general availability.

anyone has similar experiences? i would not want my i7-2600k go to a waste.

You need LGA1155, not LGA1150.

Anyway you can consider no-frill ASRock B75M-DGS @ $89. You'll lose overclocking support though.

The so-called northbridge (memory controller / MCH) is integrated into CPU already... do you mean southbridge / PCH instead?

Got a Asus Z77 from Cashtronic last month when my Gigabyte Z77 died. Called and the chindian fella sourced for me (I called the entire SLS lol). Notorious for their carrot chopping skills but they quoted me $90 for a Asus P8Z77-V LK, i think not too crazy..

Advise TS to call TradePac to confirm before going down. Its price list is always notoriously outdated, with items that are no longer available for months still in the price list.

thanks for the tip and recommendations.

oops, sorry it was a typo and rightly pointed out. and i think i got my understanding opposite.. have switched to OSX. I'm unsure if what is the cause.. but this problem just seem to haunt me more nowadays. could it be anything else than MB?
