Replacing my dying intel 4th gen system

Hi everyone my name is Daniel, my old i5 4460 system can't handle my editing and gaming simultaneously lately I'm hoping to upgrade my system soon, I'm not sure if I should wait or get it done now. Some on my colleagues told me to wait and see the launch of the ryzen 3000 architecture and some told me to not wait. I'm still able to do some editing but slowly, please advice.

Should I get a intel or amd system?
Workload : video/photo editing (wedding photos and videos)
Games : Forza 4, COD5, Assassin's creed origins, Apex legends, Smite, Overwatch

Ryzen 3 should be out mid-year with my crystal ball putting the launch date at 7/7. You should definitely wait for this, especially since you are doing content creation.

I don't do content creation, I edit wedding videos and pictures, so newly wed wives don't kill their husbands in the first year of marriage. Bridezillas

Should I pick up a Radeon VII or wait for navi? For my photo/video editing?

I intend to get a new monitor for gaming at 1080p, should I get a "24" inch or "27 for that reselution on ips?

Is 16gb ram still good for editing?

To be honest, just get the Radeon VII first if you don't want to risk bumping into yet another mining boom.

As for waiting for Navi... honestly doubt it'll be that much of an improvement except seeing AMD's track record of disappointing launches with their discrete GPUs in the recent years.

Onto the topic of Monitors, if you are doing Photo and Video Editing / Creation, you should be looking at Color Gamut and Homogeneity first, Monitor Size should come last.

Keep in mind that it's not easy to find 27'' and above monitors with good color homogeneity unless you are willing and ready to fork out hundreds or even thousands of dollars for it, there are ones that's decent, but there are always a compromise somewhere.

Either way, be ready to burn a hole in the pocket if you want to get a decent monitor for both content creation and gaming.

My company already provides the monitor for work, I'm looking to pick up a gaming monitor for myself. My old gaming monitor's led starting to have fades.
