Request for earlier results on placement

Hi all,

I was just wondering if it would be advisable to email the universities requesting for an earlier result on my placement in the university.

This is because I've seen many of my friends who was already called for their interviews and they had also sent their application around the same time as me. What's more, if I am required to disrupt from my national service, I would have to meet a certain deadline as the disruption process takes time.

But by requesting them for an earlier result, will it cause them to "rush" the application? Will there be any disadvantages?

I've heard of people receiving their postings as late as July... so yeah, you can try requesting but they can still take their jolly sweet time.
