Hi guys,

Wish to seek some expertise here for my new tower build. Tower only no peripherals required.

This build is very tedious.
The tedious part is not so much about the build itself. Its more about getting part selections to perform the required while costing as little as possible. AKA bang for buck..

For example, i'm sure a gtx980 or a titan x will run dota2, but it really wouldn't be that good a build seeing that the build is excessive for my uses.
As i have been out of the pc parts scene for awhile, i'll love to heard recommendations.

Absolute and only uses for the build are:
Dota 2 1080p.
Multiple (10-20tab) chrome browsing. Inclusive of watching youtube videos. Movie watching.
All activities occurs concurrently.

Looking to game Dota 2 at 1080p with max setting. Aiming for 50-60fps. Dota while concurrently driving the browsing, movie playing activities. Nothing more nothing less. To be clear it is Dota2 off 1 monitor and internet + movie off the other.

No real budget.

In what country are you purchasing your parts?
Singapore. Not shipping parts from overseas due to warranty coverages.

My current draft of the new build is this, however, it seems like a severe overkill for my uses.

My current build is listed below.

My current build serves what i need adequately, however, dota2 can only run on low settings 1080p for it to be smooth.

Driving factors for new build:
I really like the Silverstone ML08 case plus the reduce space.
Aiming to max out 1080p Dota2 gaming.
Aiming to minimize heat output from computer.
GPU limit at 7.5inches max to accomodate 3.5" drive.

Notes:
I read that the new Skylakes run cool, also the Nvidias are cooler alternatives to AMDs. I will be reusing components that fit the new build. Such as SSD, HDD, probably need to change to DDR4 but if DDR3 can be maintained that would be reused.

I'm dead set on a asus board due to previous issues i had with other brands.
MSI board - USB3 header broke off during initial build.
Gigabyte - Board dead after 1 year of use
Asrock - Board bios weirdly can't drive a a10-7850k properly.

If the i7 skylake can run 1080p Dota2 at max setting via the integrated graphics it will be a good option as well. I'm doubting that though.

I understand the ballpark covers a wide range. But I am more going towards spending the minimum possible while falling within the bang for buck factor. Furthermore, typical online build guides i see for my uses fall within the 500USD dollar range, but i'm not so sure about heat outputs and how many concurrent activities can run.

Thanks in advance guys.

Asus = sexpensive

Hd530 cannot run d2 at max I think... Just get discrete 950 if you want to play save. (That being said, if overly intense spams occurs, even a 780Ti cannot keep up. I get 40fps in Epic Boss Fights when the final boss spams the pentatonic circle)

Below 500USD is not remotely impossible locally but have to be smart in allocation of budget.. The parts you selected confirm will end up spending more than 500USD.

Skylake not really much cooler I think... Since both use crappy Tim between die and ihs like haswell..

Will be good if you list down:
1) your projected budget, (even if you no have a budget)
2) your requirements (WiFi, monitors, speakers, etc.)

i know Asus tend to be a little pricey, but i would pay for it i guess. The other boards are way to unreliable in my opinion. I know i will be contested on many grounds that other brands work well and what not. But lets just keep to asus since my mind is set on that.

Secondly, d2 epic boss fight? i'm not really sure if we are refering to the same games. I never knew dota2 was a graphics intensive game. Furthermore, since when did Dota2 had any epic boss fights? I thought my initial gtx950 will be way way overkill.. of course i'm not talking about minimum fps of 60.. in cases of epic team engagements i'm fine with it dropping to 40-45.. but trying to maintain an average of 60.

Thirdly, i'm trying to keep cost low, that i agree. But i'm willing to pay for performance improvements and heat reduction to a degree. The 500USD thing is just a casual statement.

Fourthly, i read that the skylakes had some change of power delivery thingy from cpu(haswell) to motherboard(skylakes) which in turn reduced the cpu heat output.

Lastly,
Projected budget really cant set a price, if i was forced to i'll say my cap is at 750. But i wish to keep cost minimum if possible.

I've read that the new i3-6100 might be good for my uses. opinions?

My required parts will be
Motherboard
CPU
GPU
750 singapore dollars for these parts.

I hope you dont get offended, I am merely trying to attain opinions and understand the considerations better.
