[Request] Load GIF only upon clicking

Hi,

I would like to request for HWZ to implement a function where all GIF will only start load/buffer/stream upon clicking on the GIF.

The reason is because, if somebody has a HUGE GIF on the first thread, shortcut link post (example link below) will ONLY start to redirect when the GIF has finish downloading/streaming/rendering.

Example of shortcut link post:

As you can see, walalala signature GIF is ard 1.3MB, it will only redirect when that 1.3MB GIF is finish downloading/streaming/rendering. Previously, lemondrink has 20MB! of GIF on the first page, until i personally requested him to removed it.

I oppose this change, you want to skim your data used, counting cents, why should the community be drag along with you?

i have no problem surfing, i suggest you stay home use broadband if you want to edmw.

this question have been raise before by sotonglove.... the previous admin already make his stand.

I'm a web developer, and I'm talking about technical stand point of view. FYI, i dont surf the forum using mobile data. During peak hour, broadband lags, fiber lags, Starfug lags, imgur lags, the whole internet lags.

What makes you think video content has a play button? Because ppl hate it when video autoplays itself.
What makes you think Adblocker extensions exist? Because ppl hate it when the ads is all over the page.
What makes you think ScriptBlocker extensions exist? Because ppl hate it when something is spying on them.

What I'm trying to prove is that, theres no need to load unnecessary content that you are not interested in.

Ohh and, to you, its okay to allow high amount of data being leech without the user realising it on mobile?
Thats unethical!
