Require Advice For My PC Rig

Hi everyone,

I am intending to upgrade my present desktop. Problem is, my mobo is too old to support anything above a 3rd generation intel processor. So, I am most of my old hardware for new ones.

I use my desktop for a few things. Gaming, FHD video-editing, game recording, game streaming and occasionally, Photoshop.

Some of the games that I intend to play or am playing are:
1. Arma 3 (A CPU sucker)
2. Star Citizen
3. Battlefield 1 (Beta ran smoothly even with my older rig)
4. Overwatch (No problem)
5. DCS World
6. Flight Simulator X

My budget is at about $1,000-ish. I am looking at playing these games at high settings at an estimated performance of 60FPS.

The only thing that I am bringing over to the new rig is:
1. Samsung 850 EVO 250gb
2. Toshiba HDD 500gb

Here is what I have compiled so far.
1. Asrock Z170m SLI
2. Kingston 480GB SSDNow V300
3. ZOTAC GeForce® GTX 1060 3GB

As you can see, I need some help with RAM suggestions, PSU suggestions or maybe even alternatives to any of the options that I have listed above.

I am flexible with my budget as I want the best price/performance ratio, ultimately.

Therefore, I really need advice from all your experts out here!

I would suggest a Zotac SSD instead at 164-90. It's out of stock at the moment so you might have to wait a bit.

need a small case or normal atx?
next do intend to OC?
have any theme color preference?
required other stuff like wifi adapter?

Noted, thanks for the advice guys. Will avoid Kingston SSDs, may just spend more and get another Samsung EVO 500 instead.

In terms of casing, I might consider using a new one. I am unfamiliar with the differences between an ATX and a small case, so I am going to need some aid in that field.

I don't intend to overclock.

Theme colour - I am ok with anything that does not scream pink or flamboyant.

I don't require a WIFI adapter.

well there are a few case for mitx that really seems like those HTPC like this :

but for ur case, can go for atx. if u want a tier smaller will be matx.

Oh nice! Thanks for the info man. I reckon I'll be going for an MATX. Will the size of the case cause any heat issues? Sorry, I am unfamiliar with this. Thank you!

No, should be fine so long as you have a couple of case fans.
