I thought MOM says your notice period can be during your maternity leave, which is what you have understood as well. Pls update if it's ok if you do so

My friend just did that - she tendered with one month ML to go, when her notice is 2 months. So she went back only serve 1 month notice

worst kind is come back from maternity and tender.
Basically nvr contribute back to company. Rather the staff resign when on maternity at least boss can employ new ppl to take over.
