Sounds like rivalry or debtor’s revenge.

assasin may be hired gun.
Very likely it's a hired hit man who did the job.

Years ago, newspaper reported that a Singaporean man who started a business overseas, was shot dead by an employee (or ex employee). Years later, I bumped into an ex colleague. She told me about this case, and that the deceased was a close relative of our former boss! I asked how she knew. She said the whole office was talking about this case and boss (she was still working in that company then while I had resigned) took a week of emergency leave. Boss was not a nice person, practised blatant favouritism so some nasty things were said about Boss among the staff.

He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword.

If one lives a life doing bad deeds, surely they can expect to always have to look over their shoulder even long after they have left their life of evil.

Because the friends and relatives of those he has wronged and whose lives he has destroyed, that stretches across generations; and their bonds are bulletproof.
brought suffering to too many people and families
vampiric interest rate
force others to sell daughter/wife
become drug runners
then duped overseas to sell organs

debtor dont pay, dont run
lender have to run

many youths in msia do this job now
to escape the hardship of low salary of normal jobs

if kena marked by local polis
will be exiled to east msia
not jailed
dumped at jungle with sparse population
no job no clinic no identity card no record
never to return

Reminds me of the funerals for triad bosses in Taiwan. If this scum is a board member of a clan association, goes to show what kind of clan is this about.
Anywhere Chinese migrate sure got secret societies. It's a cultural thingy.

Buang negeri
Buang Negeri is a term used in Malaysia that refers to a form of restriction or banishment. It involves the relocation of individuals, often criminals or those deemed a threat to public safety, to a different state or area within the country. This practice is not governed by a specific current law but was historically covered by acts such as the Restricted Residence Act 1933 and the Emergency Ordinance. These acts have been repealed or replaced by other legislation, such as the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (SOSMA) and the Prevention of Crime Act 1959 (POCA).

The term “Buang Negeri” translates to “Expel from the State” in English, indicating the act of relocating someone from one state to another. This measure was often applied to individuals involved in criminal activities, including gangsterism, drug trafficking, and other offenses that could threaten public safety or social order.

Activists have called for a review of the continual residence of individuals subjected to Buang Negeri policies, particularly in rural areas of Sarawak and Sabah. They argue that these areas may not be equipped to handle the potential issues arising from the presence of such individuals
