Worked in a US MNC Aerospace company for almost 11 years. Helped them to set Singapore and Batam plants. People resigned, I asked to take over their job and responsibility. I didn't ask for any pay adjustment nor allowance. Sep Friday 13 got retrenched. Company gave only 1 month severance pay. Aiya, doesn't what to say. Probably I was stupid. I should have ask for $$$ when additional job and additional job added on.

Thought of / May be become full time trader. Any guru recommend?

By the way, watch out for STI forming head and shoulder.

Sorry to hear about your plight. If you have a family with kids and/or aging parents to take care, it might not be advisable to become a full time trader. Just my 2 cents

Got retrenched is not the reason to become a full time trader.

I suggest you start looking for another job and if you have spare cash, then trade with them.

It may sound good to start trading and make money, but it's not as easy as you think.

You have to pay school fees to the market first and this can be costly.

If you jump fully into it without backup, it can sink you even faster than Titanic.

If you have to ask, then it's probably not wise.

Imagine you make $20k from stock montht, will you still ask?

No, don't do this.

"Full-time trading" is not usually a profitable career (unless you work for a bank like I did). At the very least, it'll take you a couple of years to turn profitable, and that'll be a couple of years of long, boring slogs, consistently pissing away money, and wondering why the hell you ever got into this stupid "full-time-trader" career.

Go and find another real job instead, and set up an investment portfolio if you really must screw around with the markets.

I agree with shiny things.

Especially if you have a family to feed, do NOT get into trading.

If u are single with lots of savings, and I mean a lot, then you can consider full-time trading. Even then, I suggest you find a job and do investing instead.

Good luck. :)

We should generate our own passive income and stop relying on our boss/employer for livelihood

Just heard a friend got downsized. Poor guy. 3 young kids, wife not working and tons of bills to pay. It is ever more important that we generate our own passive income and stop relying on our boss for livelihood. S

Even if you are a good worker, anytime not your fault tio dai ji also can kanna fired, especially if the company is not doing well. Boss say want to keep him, tell him dont worry. In the end, downsize him without any warning.

For example, dividend warrior is someone we should model. He has enough passive income to cover his expenses. He can stop working whenever he wants to and still upkeep his livelihood. I hear liao very jelly :(

You all agree or not?:o

did u actively prepare yourself for full time trading?
did u spend significant amount of time trading while u were working?

if u did not meet the above 2 requirements, don't bother to do full time trading. becos it will be suicidial.
