Ahh. Didnot know that.of course. read the TnCs...
Transfers not counted towards the $30k limit:
1) Local transfers
2) Foreign transfers to yourself
I've done more than 100k to myself overseas.
Name have to matchThanks for the information. How does Revolut differentiate between your foreign account and others? So as to make sure transfers to your own account don't count towards the 30K? I just added my foreign account and it doesn't look any different from other overseas accounts. Is there any dashboard showing remaining limits? If this works I'll definitely purchase the metal plan. Better rates than Instarem and Transferwise.
Do note that transfer fee max out at S$9 per transaction. So if you do 1x $30k in 1 month, you also get cheaper than metal. I believe metal comes with minimum subscription period. It looks like the Metal Plan is only worth buying when making >$5K in transfers each month for at least 6 months or >$30K in any one month. Do these numbers sound right? Metal Plan is $240. Save 0.3% each transfer. Save 0.5% exchange fee when >$5K in a month.

Thanks. Yes that changes the equation. So its $46K in one transfer to break even. Looks like the metal plan can be paid one year up front for $199 per year. The 0.5% exchange fee when exchanging more than $5K per month is where the significant costs start to occur:- 0.5% of $6K is $30. Also I don't want to leave much money in Revolut so I prefer to do lots of small transfers. Decisions, decisions... As long as they actually capture my transfers as being to myself and don't impose the MAS $30K limit on them then it seems that metal makes sense. I guess it's a case of "Ya spends ya money and ya takes ya chances".
I’m unable to add my new virtual card which is mastercard to simplygo. how did you do it?New revolut (physical or virtual) are Mastercard.
Now can create virtual card and add to SimpleGo
Not sure where you going to transfer. But transfers to US, got split into 2 types.
$46k to break even with? 2x transfers of $9 fee each about break even with metal fee.
$9 / $46k is about 0.02% fee.
Not counting exchange rates, $9k transfer is 0.1% fee, already much cheaper than transferwise.
Please also be aware that Revolut may limit your transfers, even if you are on metal. Like my account is limited to once every 3 working days. So about 5 to 7 times per month only. Only savings I get is to use metal account to exchange currency for other family members' account.
anyway all the scratchcards so crappy, not useful at all.whoever managed to use the Visa version on Google Pay for Bus/Mrt and get the scratch card weekly?
since before NDP i alr start using for this Visa promotion and Revolut belongs to one of the participating banks list in Gpay but yet I don't get the scratch card. send to Google ask them, chase them once in a while, already 3-4 weeks of scratch card missed then they finally reply ask me to re-add the card and see if it helps, which didn't resolved it. they took so long just to reply me to do that, it's akin my com spoil ask my IT dept for help, 4 weeks later ask me to restart my com.
I meant $46K would break even for the annual metal plan cost (seems 12 month is the minimum subscription).
Yeah having my account limited by Revolut is my main concern and why I really wonder if spending $199 on metal is worthwhile - there are too many horror stories about Revolut's capricious actions.
It's for the $56 and $20 scratch cards for 100 winners and 50 winners weekly. Not the few cents ones.anyway all the scratchcards so crappy, not useful at all.
It depends on SimplyGo, not Revolut.Just checking, the Revolut Virtual MasterCard for SimplyGo (phone NFC), is it posted daily or the usual 5 days or $15 whichever is earlier? TIA!
Uh no wonder. It depends on SimplyGo, not Revolut.
should be consolidated, occasionally daily by mistake, I think.
Visa is daily. MasterCard is consolidated or daily by mistakeUh no wonder.
Mine is consolidated, but prior posts talk about daily hahaha
MasterCard SimplyGo standard stuff.Anyone keep getting charged the $0.10 fee for your virtual Mastercard added to GPay when tapping in to bus/mrt? Ever since I started using the card from 26Aug they charge me 3 times already. Last time when I use my actual Revolut card and virtual visa (both from GPay) never had this issue.
