Need some explanation/advice from you all...

I tried to send some money to a M'sian Bank account.

I sent SGD$20. The person only received MYR$55+. That translates to a crazy rate of about SGD1=MYR2.75.

There is surely some hidden minimum charges, i think. Anyone knows why the rate is so terrible?

if you send in sgd to msia (i assume its a myr denominated account), i would guess that they have a fee for receiving foreign currency as well as using their own bank's forex rate.

Furthermore, most banks convert all transactions to USD first then to the denominated currency. So SGD>USD>MYR.

Plus TT rate is not good. If you average at 3% per conversion, will hit around the rate you mentioned

The queue is not even moving at all. You get bumped up due to people removing themselves from the queue.

Previously limited but had already been verified. After verification can top up and cash out. But recently cash out to my own bank accounts were refunded back twice into own revolut wallet.

Just wondering how do close the account if needed?

I just topped up revolut and do I have to convert to any currency before using when travel to overseas? Or just pay using the card and it will auto convert to the local currency?

You can do either, but I would advise changing before the weekends, as there is a markup during the weekends.

You were abusing it. So they refund it. You close account by spending everything, then end.

Bank of China got free incoming on certain currencies though. Although I understand from the bank's back end sure got some fees ah

Bro boc sg will have free incoming sgd and perhaps hkd cny

For sg banks typically only free sgd. Technically they can waive usd if you have a rm.
