Hi,
Need some advice on my approach.

I play games twice or thrice a week and 2-3hrs a day such as Diablo III, WoW and BF4 and i want to play with high settings. I usually use my surface pro for my surfing and work and use razer blade 14 solely for gaming. I decided to sell my razer blade as i seldom use it and will like to DIY a desktop.

Below are the items i am thinking. I don't think i will overclock but i do want to ensure i got a good graphics card. Will any of the items will be a bottleneck?

I have a spare SSD and monitor hence i won't be buying.

Intel Core i5-4670 3.4 Ghz
ASRock H87 FATAL1TY PERFORMANCE
Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Pro PC12800 16GB (2X8GB)
Asus Radeon R9 290X 3GB DDR5 384 Bit
Cooler Master Storm Scout 2 Gunmetal Gray
Corsair GS Series With LED 700W GS700 (CP-9020013-WW)

Thanks.

290x is overkill, wait for non-ref 290 to hit the shelves if you want to "future proof" your rig

you can down scale your psu to 600w - super flower 600 hx gold

Well looks like 4570 and B85 is better option for me in terms of value. I thought H87 will give me the benefit of SSD caching. I'm kinda noob on this, trying to make sense from the internet. Will make these spec changes and hopefully hoot tomorrow.

If you are gonna use ssd for OS, ssd caching isnt needed.

SSD caching is used to speed up hdd if hdd holds ur OS. Since it isnt, there is no need for it.

oh and you dont need so much ram too

8gb is sufficient :)

2)huge ass transparent screen
