I'm thinking of building a new rig and mostly for programming in Android, .Net and stuff. Sometimes games like MGS and some old tycoon games. Budget maybe around 1.2 - 1.5k +?
I'm not very good at this, just wondering if i should change any of the parts below and stuff?

Intel core i5-4690k 3.5ghz
Gigabyte gaZ97MX Gaming 5 Micro ATX
Cooler Master hyper 212 Evo
Value 8GB Ram
Transcend 512GB SSD370
WD black 2TB
MSI GeForce GTX 970 Armor edition
Fractal Design Define Mini Micro ATX Tower
Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze
Windows 8.

Lol that setup above costs like 1.9k
And Corsair CX series PSUs ain't that good

And you are playing older games, so you probably won't even need a GTX970.

i5-4460 + MSI H81M-E35 @308
Strontium DDR3-1600 2x4GB @68
Samsung 850 EVO 256GB @175
WD Blue 1TB @69
Samsung DVD Drive @21
Zotac GTX960 @308
Seasonic M12-II 520W @95
Corsair 100R @89
Windows 8 Home Premium 64 bit @35 (g2a.com)

Total 1168

Below your budget, and if you want a better GPU, you can go for a R9 390 instead of a GTX970.

Sidetrack abit. I brought my rig -> for about 2.3k woth 3 additional fans pluse case fan and 212x...

It will be much more cheaper if i get parts from different sources. But well i get it all in one shop and assembled there. So is alittle more expensive. Not tradeoac though.

Hmm I thought 3TB is less stable? 16Gb ram seems good for me to do virtualization.

390 seems to have double the power consumption of 970. Wondering if it justify the extra performance over 970 on the same pricing while consuming double?

The only reason i'm building this com is for metal gear solid phantom pain =x .

A lot more, but not double la

So other than being cheapo last time, i.e. $300+ for a R9-290, $400+ for a R9-290X, IMO there's hardly any reason to recommend it over GTX 970 if former is way more expensive.

I'm a bit scared in applying the Arctic MX4 paste... Is it ok if i put just 1 tiny dot and put the Coolermaster 212 Evo on it? I gotten it because my room's windows are lock and there's no ventilation.. So it tend to be hot.
