Hello bros,

My friend is looking to buy a new rig now that his AIO PC has died. His budget is around 1000-1200, excluding monitor / OS. He missed the BF sales so he didn't get any parts from there. Since it is his first new custom PC, would it be advisable to ask him buy parts locally then move up from there?

I also did some research seeing the Aftershock Bolt Red PC build has good value. Is that a good recommendation or should build from scratch?

He mostly use the PC for LoL and web browsing.

Thanks in advance!

Bolt red is quite a good deal for its price, definitely beats its intel counterpart. Build from scratch defo cheaper, but gotta wait till xmas for xmas sales. Locally sourced parts other than mobo is never a good idea since markups by local retailers can be quite high compared to online sales. Then again, if your friend prefers peace of mind and convenient RMA, then by all means go local.
