Rig recommendation

Hi all,

Really out of touch with the DIY hardware scene. Need some recommendation for a small casing rig mainly used for web browsing, light web gaming web3 related, run vmware hosts, run python codes.

Want to be able to open web browser/webpages at the fastest speed possible. Was initially thinking of getting a MacBook Pro but think it is overkill and overpriced for my requirement.

Will building it on my own, so getting from taobao/amazon/local websites etc is not a problem. Thanks.

Thanks for the late night reply, I'm hoping to get it done within 1k. Didn't know DIY Rig has gotten so much more expensive.

Would prefer a small case, ideally mini-itx or smaller (so it will be easy to hide for aesthetic), but if a bigger case brings more value/options for MB i would consider it.

ryzen 7 pro 4750g (8c/16t) - $350
snowman mx-6 (6 heatpipe dual tower cooler) with 2 fans - $12
msi b450m mortar (used) - $55
sama quzao (tecware fusion) - $65
with shipping total: $510

from amazon sg:
2x16gb teamgroup tcreate 3600mhz ddr4 ram - $150
1tb wd sn750 w heatsink - $190

locally:
any decent 450w-600w psu will do, max $100
personal recommendations are cooler master mwe 450w ($55, budget) and super flower legion gx pro 650w ($105, value and future upgradeability), both prices from tradepac

total: ~$900
i would have recommended the sgpc k88 which is quite a bit smaller at 14l (vs 21l+ for the fusion), but the listing does not offer direct shipping and thus im not sure of the total cost, plus taobao consolidated shipping is quite a bit more expensive than direct shipping. u might also find the ssd on carousell for cheaper, saw it go for $170. ram and ssd prices fluctuate quite a bit on amazon, so do keep an eye out for good prices.

i would recommend using taobao's direct air shipping wherever possible. ezbuy's air rates are no longer cheaper than cainiao: ezbuy charges a flat $4 per 500g for economy and $5 for sensitive, vs ~$4 for first 500g and $3.50 for subsequent 500g blocks, plus u dont know which will be allowed until ur item reaches the ezbuy warehouse, while taobao/cainiao is a straight can or cannot ship with air when u buy the item. u also dont have to deal with volumetric weight (yes cainiao air uses actual weight only), ezbuy's x1.1 chargeable weight policy and their very basic tracking, and the cherry on top is that u only save like 1rmb by choosing self collection for cainiao, so delivery to door is a no brainer.

tray cpus are fine - in fact they are the only way to get oem cpus like the 4750g. there is no such thing as a bnib 4750g, maybe at most a small black box not much bigger than the tray itself. anyway, heres the link for the 4750g at the price i found (1659rmb): https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=598016459628, plus there are options to bundle with mobos: with brand new b450m mortar max its 2019rmb/$430, though u have to indicate when buying. as for the used mobo, here's the link: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=660902497985; ive bought from this shop before and im actually typing this on a rig with one of their used mobos.

the quzao i found actually costs 289rmb with the tempered glass side panel, can have a free customised front panel and u can get it shipped to sg for free if u can find something else that also offers free shipping once total amount is over 299rmb so u can get some small 10rmb item; usually what ive found is that buying other things that dont have this offer with things that do have this offer can reduce the shipping fees for whatever reason, in this instance it went down from 67rmb to 55rmb. link is here: https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=629967163232.
as for the sgpc cooler, it looks like its their own in house cooler, so im not sure about the performance, likely not very popular so not a lot of reviews. bundling it with the case adds 100rmb, so its more expensive than the snowman cooler.

i dont think theyre really gifts... u can choose between the tempered glass panel and the fans for the same price, but if u have both together its 329rmb. for a igpu system u probably dont need too much ventilation though.

u have to order through the mobile app. make sure the quzao is the one with free shipping over 299rmb, so u can either get something small that is 10-20rmb to add to the 289rmb case, or get the combo with the tempered glass and fans at 329rmb.

oh yes PSU was included in the $840. got the cooler master 450w from shopee.
