Prefer AMD Ryzen. Don't need overclock.

Budget MB+Ryzen 3600 also close to $400
Gaming nowadays require standard is 2*8gb, also around $130 if get from oversea
SSD get cheapo one 512gb also close to $100

Basically will exceed your budget by at least $200 if all brand new.

normally, people will recommend you getting a prebuilt if you know nothing about PC. Unless you really want to experience first hand.

prebuilt system comes with warranty (some are on site as well), it saves you a lot of work troubleshooting when things goes wrong.

if you buy the components on your own, you need to troubleshoot yourself when things goes wrong and RMA the faulty component (provided you manage to figure out which one is faulty).

and among the prebuilt sellers, Aftershock is the cheapest of them all for what they offer.

Aftershock has good price... But their lead time can be frustrating.

While they promised a 3-4 business day delivery on their website... This is not true..

My estimated delivery is 6 jan even though I ordered on 23 dec..

When I emailed to ask about the delivery today.. They told me it will only be ready by end of the week.. Instead of 3 business days...they take 3 weeks to deliver...

If i knew... I would have rather bought the parts and built it myself..

Ddr4 2x8GB 3000MHz (team or Adata or Galax or Klevv) can get around $90(no RGB) for RGB type around $100.

it's not like we're asking you to go for aftershock for the convenience. They REALLY are well priced. It makes no sense to go DIY unless you want to go through the process of building yourself.

I like to tinker with my rig so DIY is the only option for me. Think I have cracked open my case at least 3 times since building this rig to upgrade this and that.

total $902. prices from pcthemes. considering local warranty, it is really still not too bad to source all parts from SLS.

nice to get for the remaining budget -
^better CPU: upgrade to ryzen 5 3600, +$110, OR
*more storage: upgrade to crucial p1 nvme 1tb, +$90

or save a bit longer, get both upgrades.
