Rig upgrade advice.

Hi Guys,


got a fren who wish to upgrade his PC as its always restart. i 'conclude' its the motherboard faulty after diagnosing.

Here are his rig specs.

Q9550
Asus P43 motherboard using DDR3 RAM
2 x 2GB DDR3 1333MHz
500GB HDD
GTX 260
andyson 650W PSU


He will be watching movies and play sports games like Fifa.

what is the best solution to upgrade? change another LGA775 board with DDR3 RAM support? or change a new motherboard and CPU only?

budget $200.

if very sure is the mobo problem can change to Asrock H81-dgs + G3258 at $153.

I would say performance in terms of the games your friend is playing is not problem at all, since games these days are more gpu reliant as compared to CPU reliant. I would say not to worry about the CPU performance but worry more about the whether the GPU can handle future games assuming your friend want to play other games other than fifa

yea, oh ya must add $30 if not complete rig, but do bargain from them they will waive off the $30 de no worries. they very easy bargain de, i'm sure there is tons of post here tell you how to bargain from them. like last week i went there because not enough time just anyhow ask them give me discount for mx100 ssd, no question ask they just do it
