Hi all,

I have the following pc build gotten in 2020 from Carousell. Looking upgrades to support different variety of games such as call of duty MW 2, overwatch 2, f1 manager 2022 etc. don't mind lower resolution of 1080p. Budget around $1-1.5k.

I suggest you update the BIOS first. If stable, you can save on the MB upgrade and just upgrade the CPU to 5600/X/G.

I would hold off on the GPU upgrade for a few weeks since there are rumored price cuts.

You might want to save the rest of the money for a complete overhaul down the road.

ur rx 570 is still potent enough for the games u mentioned, can do 1080p just fine.

Budget around $1-1.5k.

with this budget, u can also choose to build a pretty decent current gen rig with quality parts. i would only recommend this if ur current rig cannot handle ur games though, especially when as mentioned by the other bros that price cuts are coming.

I think when the new gen stuff is all released, u can use that budget to go for prev gen stuff. It should be cheaper by then.

Once the market reaches that point, you can probably get something like the Ryzen 5600x + RX6000 series card.

Also, I would get a proper PSU as that kind of low-tier PSU is more suited for low-end rigs. I'll probably change the casing to a better-quality one.

Cooler: SE226XT - $69
PSU: Superflower Leadex III 750W - $150
GPU: RX 6600 XT - $520
Case: Phanteks G360A - $135

This is just an illustration, it currently cost around 1.1k. At least, that's how I would plan with that budget.

Additional budget probably can get 1TB SSD, 512GB i think not enough. Btw your ram is 2 stick right, or 1x 16GB stick? I know there were some moments AS sold their PCs with 1 stick of ram.

*Or reuse but A320M doesn't have support for PCIE 4.0.

Total will be $830, excess budget you can consider to a better case.
The RX570 still have potential and most games still can run on it.
Take note when you change CPU or motherboard, recommend do a clean install of Windows

1) storage space - Currently limited space remaining. Whether shd I add bigger storage HDD or upgrade SDD/ NVme?

2) Casing - Why bro recommend Phanteks G360A to upgrade? Any other casing recommendation? How abt casing from Lian Li which I find it pricey.

3) If I were to purchase the parts myself, any recommended person/shop wirh reasonable price that I could engage to do it? DIY build many yrs ago but cable mgmt sucks lol

Shops like Fuwell, PCThemes are some of the shops you can consider.
Case wise you can look around for one that suits you and you can consider getting case and psu first.
As for storage, really depends on you but most would opt for a SSD for OS and Hard disk for data and games.

Like Samsung 970 EVo Plus 500GB as primary OS drive than add either a 1tb or 2tb hard disk.

Minimally I would get a 1TB Gen 3 SSD unless absolutely no budget. Samsung 970 Evo plus 1TB only $139 from amazon sg. Load anything from it also faster due to access time and transfer rates. Local set is abit more ex but you get local warranty which is more convenient.

2) Casing - Why bro recommend Phanteks G360A to upgrade? Any other casing recommendation? How abt casing from Lian Li which I find it pricey.

The casing can consider Lian Li Lancool 3 as well

I recommended G360A because it is good value and already comes with 3 ARGB fans. Also has a built-in ARGB controller, and controlling using the MB header is optional.

DIY many years ago then continue to DIY, cable management just watch a few youtube videos can learn already.

This should be decent and it's good pricing. Just keep in mind that the controller is using Sandisk instead of the wd proprietary controller.

I bought a couple of SN850 during some sale a few months ago, when putting the S/N in the warranty it will say this.



From the amazon Q&A can just call to change, haven't tried it yet though.

Just a heads-up. I got a PM last Wednesday from a HWZer. According to him, his request to RMA an out-of-region HDD was rejected.

Anyone with recent experience might want to chime in. It will be interesting to know whether WD's unofficial policy allowing OOR HDDs to be RMAed has changed.

rest of budget dump on gpu

Not sure if 4x 2667mhz or 2x 3600mhz will perform better, but if u have spare budget u can get another 2x8gb 3600mhz ram and give it a try in both config
