Anyone here successfully uploaded a MP3 file to use as ringtone on iPhone?

I still use itunes to convert to m4a format and change to m4r format then transfer to iphone

I think for iPhone, this is still the only method. direct mp3 seems not allowable.

Convert MP3 to m4a through iTunes and just rename the m4a file to m4r.

Before convert
Preferences - conversion settings - change to AAC format

Locate ur mp3. Drag n drop into “Songs” in itunes

Highlight ur mp3 u wanna convert - File - Convert - AAC Version

Right click ur m4a(usually below ur mp3 ring tone)


“Show in Explorer” Change .m4a to .m4r

Back to itunes. Select your iphone. Select “tones” Then drag the m4r into it.

Done
