When do I get to see the dietician?
I suppose u can request for it even now and they will note down and will arrange a meeting for you.

In addition, since u wanna have a long term healthy diet, make use of this opportunity, even after u fully recovered, what are the meal portion recommended for you.
Like protein, vege carbs portion base on ur body build.

I’m against Intermittent fasting cos done in the long term will really lead to health problems.

Occasional hunger is fine.

The gastric juice won’t stop and if there is nothing for it to digest, it will “eat” into your stomach lining. This is logic,

No need scientists if you know the working of each organ…
Not backed up by any science. Don’t quote the latest “not even a study” abstract by AHA.

the way it works is that once your body is used to it, gastric juices will only come about when you eat foods triggering it. So as long as I consume water only, my gastric juices do not get activated

which is why you can sleep without your gastric juices burning a hole in your gut.

real downsides of IF are not looking at food quality and portion sizing but IF is really important for the average lower-metabolism adult who just needs less meals a day.

Hmmm... actually hor, if your gastric juice won't stop, your stomach already have a big hole after 8 hours of sleeping.
This is why your last meal should have protein… takes longer to digest for the night long haul…

Y first meal of the day should be veggies?
To avoid glucose spike after a long haul …

I m thinking that ts can ease into eating with semi liquid food and gradually go into solid food later…

I m of the Opinión for him to take mixed veggie juice to speed up the healing …

I m not so sure on this cos ts illness is too complicated…

Ts needs to be guided by a good professional dietitians…

Not all of professional in sg is good.

I pui most of them… especially the doctors in sg…
Low Fodmap is probably what the doc will recommend for a while but healing should be quite quick. Later can consider the advanced fibre intake like psyllium husk. Note for psyllium husk - you MUST accompany with lots of water.

I have never seen any evidence on this theory. Do you know of a study or trial that looks into this issue and conclude fasting will cause cancer?
Ok. Enough.

Just sharing my opinions and knowledge…

The same message can be intercepted in different ways largely depending on your understanding etc…

I m not here to prove anyone wrong…

Let us drop it…

Just trying to help ts…

Its sort of like the Podiatry Department in the early 00s when each hospital only got a few. But that's also if you don't include the high turnover lah. On average, every 24-30 months, a few would leave for private practice for the much lighter patient load and better pay. PLUS in private you meet MUCH fewer patients who would make you puke blood coz they preferred to believe their friends who showed them youtube vidoes on how to do things better (sounds like someone right?)....
Podiatry also got to talk about diet?
SG podiatrists got operating privileges? In Canada Podiatrists can do Osteotomy for Hallux Valgus. 1st MTPJ joint replacements.
In SG is ortho who do it right?

For those who are keen, DM me
Ts, with so many days of “fasting”, what u can stomach will be reduced…

So don’t eat like your old ways, eat enough of protein n veggies should suffice.
Always try to eat 3/4 full…

Also to incorporate omega 3 rich fatty fish like salmon, cod fish, mackerel /saba, tuna etc…

No... I quoted podiatry to tell you how a particular common group of Allied Health Practioner today started out as a very small group in the early 00s. Which is y the 20+ of us isn't an unusual number even in public hospitals.

Yes, in SG podiatrist can do simple surgery like removing in-grown toe nail etc. Are you even based in SG?

Removing in grown toe nail is so low level procedure. Nail avulsion. Maybe Zadik operation a little more involved. But joint replacement in foot is no joke.

I live in Canada.

She's ********ting lah, O levels got study this? Docs in med school take 3 years to study anatomy. My anatomy module for undergrad was 4 months long, then when doing post-grad still got to study again depending on which specialty path I was taking.
i saw anatomy evolve from the beautiful paintings in gray's anatomy to the visible human project to elsevier's complete anatomy, which allows for much better spatial understanding

I ever watched a taiwan video that say IF is no good, then many viewers bashed him by leaving angry comments. Those are the ppl who gain health by doing IF. Someone said he was a doc who might got paid by pharma companies to demote IF.

Thousand years ago, our ancestors didn't lead a 3 meals life, they only eat when they can find food. 3MAD only started after industrial revolution. Biologically we are the same as our ancestors, life has changed but our body structure remains.
Quite true, its since the invention of refrigerator that enable us to have easy ready access to food that we start to have 3 stable meals.

And have anyone wonder why the first meal of the day is called "Breakfast"?? Its from "Break" -- "Fast" ....

Intention and studies are good, but those adopting it might not be able to adopt their fasting to clinical fasting standards/diet.
Thats why have to consult ur doctor and dieticians if they wanna start a different diet.

I have personally witness a couple of my frens, they went for 16/8, they slim down alot very fast, easily 10 to 20kg within a year, but they look very bad and pale, like a malnutrition patient.
They have sunken cheeks, thin limbs and legs ....

Reasons is direct
- They really are malnutrition.
- Majority of their weight loss is from muscle mass.
- If they consume less than 0.8 grams of proteins/kg of body weight, they will be losing muscle mass, much more if the older they gets.
- A normal adult male need around 1800 to 2200 calories to maintain their current build, so would they be able to stuff this calories within 8 hrs eating windows, else they will be having caloric deficit and lose weight and muscle again.
- During the fasting windows, they will tend to gorge on their favourite food since they are hungry and in a mentality of i am fasting, i am burning fats, i am healthy, so they will eat fast food, hawker food, deserts etc. Tummy so filled with such food, they will obviously avoid healthy whole food like steam fish/chicken leafy greens.

End up its a total disaster.
Like many things, the intention is good, but its the misinterpreting and lack of proper execution that flips the table.

I have a new problem
Automatic breathing system is not working that well
I only breathe in when I am about to be out of breath when asleep (large intake of oxygen at once) ,had highlighted it to the nurse just now

In everything moderation is the safest choice.

Logically going extreme for a short period of time is not so damaging to the health… get the hint…

My guess is Not enough oxygen in blood … good that u highlight to nurse..

But don’t bet on nurses… sometimes they too bz and forgot to bring up to doctor…

Best is ask to see doctor and tells him cos it seems urgent to me..
