is it so hard to avoid sweets, rice, noodles or pastries? can't you endure hunger abit? and work out abit more? that will save you all the time & expense seeing doctors & monitoring your blood glucose levels

saw something nice? don't eat. it's not difficult at all
I have come to realise there are two groups of people when it comes to food 1) the "eat to live" and 2) live to eat.

I don't know if it is inborn or what but some people eat just to fill their stomach and they are not fussy about food at all. The other group has extremely sensitive taste buds whose sole enjoyment is to eat (ok, I am exaggerating here). They often can cook quite well.

So for the second group, it is harder for them to change their diet and eat food that is on the bland side although healthier food can also be tasty if you know how to do it.

Side track, anyone here has family members or friends who don't drink water at all? Two years ago, I was shocked to discover two of my family members don't drink water at all. I wonder how they even stay alive. Getting them to change this habit is a herculean task!

Because for me to track ,and to remind myself and others that my diet is cmi

Told me to do a complete blood test tmr
And find a day go to the diabetic centre to have my legs screened

I really want to overhaul my diet

I'm on afternoon shift so it's not possible to walk in the evening though I did tried to walk under the sun before work but tiagong it is not good for health and it is the water I lose not fats
If you don't want to walk in the sun, go walk in a mall. (Don't look at the food vendors, or stop to windowvship )
Or walk under your block , along the covered walkways etc.

Diet soda is popular for people with diabetes. Diet soda doesn't directly impact your blood sugar or A1C levels, but people who are overweight and have a lot of blood sugar may have a sugar response to artificial sweeteners, which in turn causes a rise in blood sugar.
Diet soda not healthy either . Just learn to drink plain water.
I used to take coke in lieu of water.
Until I found out how much sugar went into a can of that stuff. It was not easy switching to water initially. But I'm coke free for more than half a century.

And cook your own rice at home. If you still like white rice like me, the least you can do is add some alchemy fiber to it. That will help ALOT.
Someone told me that they were advised to use more water when cooking rice, and to throw away the water after it's been boiling.

You sound like my cousin. Told me that
"I can eat anything I like cos I'm taking statins"
But recently learnt from my sister that she now has to control her diet. Means that her readings must have gotten worse despite the meds.
I have elderly who yolo their diet but taking medicines for life.

I see they are very happy and still kicking at older age.

Taking medicines and yolo are probably better than those who stress themselves by limiting this food that food and avoiding meds.

Reminder psychological stress can also impact our healthspan.

My wife said my mouth stinks ,means I'm on keto?
Yes, diabetic people burn fats because of less sugar entry into cells. The results of fatty acid oxidation is ketone bodies in your gut. Ketone has sweet fruity smell but to others it is stinky smell. This problem will lessen if your diabetes is under control.

Wondering the 0.1 is it because of the quinoa that I ate 12h ago

As well as the carrot and pumpkin

Edited; the molee sauce of the fish might be the culprit!
