Hi all!
I'm planning to sell my desktop away since the GPU isn't functioning..and resort to only using my 2013 rMBP as my daily driver.
Access to drives
I've bought a HDD dock and am able to read them via USB port. Limitation is there as I wouldn't be able to write on it -- but for now I think I'm okay with that.
Internet
Currently using WiFi but I want a more solid connection via Ethernet; but for that, I'll need a Thunderbolt-to-Ethernet adapter.
Monitor
My monitor still displays fine so I'm planning to use it as my main screen when I'm working at home on my rMBP. For that I'll need a Thunderbolt-to-HDMI adapter.
Peripherals
Remaining 3x USB ports will be utilised for (1)my keyboard, (2)my mouse. And also my speakers via the 3.5mm jack. Don't need any adapters for these!
My question is, is there a single dock/device/adapter that has, HDMI, Ethernet, and perhaps a USB 3.0 port? Cus otherwise I'd be plugging in and out so many things when I want to head out with my laptop. Having one dock/device/adapter would make it so much easier and neater too.
Second question is, does anyone of you have something like this set up? Encounter any problems? And any tips for keeping the laptop cool?
Thanks in advance!
