Say maintenance or management or commissioning fee for 0.65% for below $20k is like maybe $18,000 paying rate of $117 per year.

isn’t it cheaper if I just get some dividends stocks and only pay for one time payment commission charge which is sure less than $117 and even if sell, combine buy&sell com is less than $117?

If you are looking at face value of cost yes.

but that’s not their value proposition?

If your intention is to purchase individual company stocks, then it's not quite comparable since you can't really do that with a roboadvisor platform, as they offer funds instead.

Typically what we recommend here is to purchase ETFs, ideally Irish-domiciled ones listed on the London Stocks Exchange, using Interactive Brokers. There are no platform fees, but besides the commission for buy/sell, there are fund management fees, but these are very low for ETFs (looking at 0.20% for ISAC or 0.22% for VWRA) - even lower than the additional dividends tax you pay for US stocks.

Roboadvisers aren't completely useless though, it's definitely a lot more simple and convenient to setup. Currency change is automatically done for you and you can setup RSPs and GIRO to automate your DCA. It's quite a bit more work doing all these through IBKR, which is why roboadvisers are still fairly popular and there's a few threads about them around.
