Route marches is tough for most people and when doing 3-4km, it already seems like its impossible yet theres 24km in the end. However, with progressive training, your strength will be built up and very soon you will not feel the weight that much.

1 thing good about PTP i guess is more route marches to build up the beginning foundation strength cos direct BMT increase each route march distancevery quickly.

Anyway after field camp, most will feel route marches alot easier cos the field camp field pack is much heavier and the 'reduced' load for the usual route marches suddenly feels more relaxed.

Yeah, PTP and Obese recruits tend to start with 3 klick first. The enhanced recruits will go into 4 klick straight. Heard they did their 6 klick by the end of confinement period while we did ours on our 13th/14th week (just recently, I'm from obese company). Some of the enhanced can't tahan the 6 klick in the end peng san, MO diagnosed heat injury.

A tip from my Sgt: Pack everything into the middle compartment of your field pack after your force prep and then tighten every single strap to the max.

First 4km with field pack i also jialat. I'm small size some more 164/43. so the fbo weight ratio pretty much is higher on me. progressive training sure helps a lot. You just gotta give your best at each opportunity. Your body can take it, it's only your mind!
