Think about it, you have been charged and failed to turn up to answer for a charge. What do you think will happen?

Why do you want to do this stunt?

You will definitely have to answer for your charge, there's no other way about it. But, if you have reasons for being unable to turn up for that day, request for a re-schedule on NS Portal. Any AWOL from SAF264 will subject you for subsequent issuance of SAF264, which JDO will take into consideration prior to the verdict of your offence.

Yes, it is an AWOL offence.

Better surrender first to lighten your charge before they ban you from exiting Singapore and activate MP to go your house or workplace to arrest you and charge you DB (which will affect your job cause you consider AWOL).

It is always NSman's responsibility to update their contact such as postage mail which deem your parent's house is the correct contact.

So think of a better reason why you miss the date twice.

If they letters are not sent using registered mail, it would have been better had he said he did not receive any letter at all. But since he admitted that he received it, but was sent to his parents place, then he’s at fault liao.

JDO is the Junior Disciplinary Officer. If you're an officer, you'll face the SDO (Senior Disciplinary Officer) who are usually LTC and above.

If you did not turn up for the 1st and 2nd SAF264 served to you, you'll be tagged as AWOL by the Central Defaulter Management Branch. In the past, 3rd SAF264 will be sent out by NS unit as a form of final warning. Earlier last year, NS units handed this practice over to CDMB side to be more centralized for defaulted NSman.

So what will happen if you don't turn up after 3rd SAF264? There will not be any MP or police knocking at your doorstep. Your offense will just be held outstanding, which will restrict the Exit Permit Office from processing your EP if you're overseas, which will eventually snowball into EP offense. Without EP, your IPPT/RT liability continues and you'll continue to default them year by year if you remain overseas.

Let's say you returned after 3 years and snowballed 3 outstanding RT offenses and EP, you can imagine the amount of fine you will need to pay.

So.. missing out SAF264 appointments will be the start of many more problem..
