Sad for those early adopters.
Hilarious for those scalpers.
Sad for those early adopters.
Those who cut corners without using even one MLCC are definitely at fault, since the reference design did specify one MLCC.
Wonder how many of the cheaper aib cards are using at least 1 or none of the “expensive” components and if the more expensive brands like Asus are using more of them.
I am surprise gigabyte use 0 mlccs too

I am surprise gigabyte use 0 mlccs too
Ya lor. At lease msi give 1The Gigabyte 3090 has 0 MLCCs. In a top tier card. That’s bad.
It's common practise not to "over-engineer" the solution, and "cost-down" to beat your competitors... like army saying, do anything u wanted and don't ever get caught....
Another reason, could be this...

MLCC price has surge 70-80% since feb2020.
Peeps like to jump to conclusions even without them knowing what the real issue is.
It is still not concrete if using all postcap or 2 mlcc + 4 postcap or going all mlcc is the
cure or even an issue. If all postcap was an issue gamer nexus would'nt be able to o.c. his prepoduction unit
of the evga ftw3 which is using all postcap to 2.3ghz, although that is with a bios mod with
power uncapped and with ln2.
There are also reports of the asus and fe cards with crashes( don't quote me on this though)
Another point is mlcc and postcap have their pros and cons depending on what class or type is used.
Let it get sorted out frist and wait, let the dust settle I would say.

P.S. the evga ftw3 production units is with a 2 mlcc + 4 postcap config
seems like they like to lump everything together and call them POSCAP
MLCC vs POSCAPS is what?
Never heard of these 2 in comparison in previous gpu or Motherboard before.
Higher quality capacitors like Asus means longer warranty/less issues/or faster?
I don't see this as a huge issue, to be honest. I am more concerned with the following.
1. Price, definitely this is most impt.
2. Speed
3. Warranty duration
4. Issues e.g. Crashes.
5. RMA location
