When it comes to frugal celebs, we think Taiwanese actor Wallace Huo could totally give famously thifty stars Chow Yun Fat and Tony Leung a run for their money (literally).

His wife, Taiwanese actress Ruby Lin, 49, recently spilled the tea about just how thrifty Wallace, 45, is on the fifth season of Chinese variety show See You Again.

According to Ruby, he is her complete opposite when it comes to spending.

She’s the type who loves online shopping and won’t hesitate to click “add to cart”, while he’s perfectly content with what he already has.

He doesn’t care for the latest tech gadgets, Ruby shared.

In fact, he has been using the same mobile phone for five or six years even though the screen is cracked and the case scuffed up. And he still refuses to replace it.

Wallace’s reasoning?

“No need to change — it still works,” said Ruby.

Suddenly we feel guilty about splurging on the new iPhone 17.

Wallace is also known for his low-key, practical lifestyle.

He’s been spotted wearing the same outfits over and over, and during filming breaks, he’d rather chill at home than splurge on travel.

But when it comes to his family, it’s a whole different story.

“He’s quite thrifty with himself, but very generous to his family!” revealed Ruby.

He turns into a total softie with their eight-year-old daughter, nicknamed Little Dolphin.

“Whenever she wants something new, he buys it right away,” she said.

The couple have been married for nine years, share a strong sense of balance when it comes to work and family. When one is filming, the other stays home to make sure their daughter always has a parent around.

The pair keep their finances mostly independent but share a joint fund for their daughter’s education and family insurance.

His life quite completed wif career and marriage, dont need phone to destress.

Different from BBFA who need phone to play game, roll characters to destress.

This one not frugal lah. Some people don't change phone cuz they got a lot secret stuff in the old phone
