Nvidia Pascal lineup and launch dates

April 2016 - GTC: Tesla (GP100)
June 2016 - Computex: GTX 1080 (GP104) & GTX 1070 (GP104)
4Q 2016 - GP106 & GP107
4Q 2016 or 1Q 2017 - Titan (GP100)
1Q / 2Q 2017 - GP108 (GM108 rebrand?)

It begins in April, with the Tesla board, based on GPU GP100, and dedicated to the HPC market. 'S Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory have already announced that they will make extensive use. The first dedicated to the consumer market cards, will be those with GPU GP104, always produced with FF16 node ++ TSMC. They should be submitted to COMPUTEX in Taipei, but the market should start only from 3Q 2016

Looks to me like they are going to do like what they are doing with their gtx970 980 to launch first, then flagship comes later.

I think it really depends if you need a new desktop or laptop now. If your rig is still going strong, then I don't see the reason to rush to upgrade. For laptops, I think it makes even more sense to wait if you are not in a hurry to get since its less upgradeable. So you are pretty much stuck with it for sometime. ;)

Otherwise, one more thing to note is that the desktop version of the GPU will be release later in the year. But the mobile GPU will take even longer.

Makes sense to milk the HPC market with the expensive GP100 first as they are willing to pay top dollars, but it's sad news for enthusiasts...

I hope Polaris will be stronger than expected and force nV to show hand Titan / GTX1080 Ti earlier! :D

Chances are, AMD will target their new product launches within 1 month of Nvidia to compete in the same price/performance category.

I'm looking forward to replace the helicopter+air fryer that is my 7870 Myst! Haha it still is quite the good card at the ~$300 price point 3 years ago, just that noise and heat really gaogao. :s13:

Hopefully Pascal and Polaris will revitalise the PC industry a little and get back into the desktop enthusiast market with a vengeance.

The desktop CPU is more or less declining and with Intel officially stating that they are going forward with making slower CPUs instead and focus on energy efficiency, the competition for faster CPU is gone.

Now only the GPU remains.
