That’s not a correct statement. When it comes to multi core/threaded applications AMD is ahead so running VM’s I would for sure go for an AMD Ryzen 5 (6 core, 12 thread) or even Ryzen 7 (8 core, 16 thread).

Intel is still ahead in terms of gaming by a little. Depending on game it’s between 5-10% better but generally cost more.
