Watch: “Queendom 2” Highlights Intense Dance Unit Battle + Announces Round 3 Results​

“Queendom 2” has wrapped up and announced the final rankings for their heated position battle!

On the May 12 episode of Mnet’s “Queendom 2,” the dance units closed out the second half of Round 3 and the final results for both competitions were revealed.

Last week, the vocal units gave mesmerizing performances of songs by EXO, IU, and BOL4. Among these units, WJSN’s Yeonjung, Soobin, and VIVIZ’s Eunha (Universe in Eunha) took first place, followed by Hyolyn and Brave Girls’ Minyoung (33). In third place was team Sun and Moon, which included LOONA’s Kim Lip, Chuu, Jinsol, and Haseul with Kep1er’s Seo Young Eun and Kim Chae Hyun.

Before the dance units performed, each team’s preparation processes were shown. For VIVIZ and Kep1er’s “Purr” performance, they practiced in front of their choreographer Honey J, the leader of dance crew HolyBang. She told the group, “It’s better than what I worried about. However, it feels like you worked harder on your individual choreography than the [overall] mood.”

The second performers were WJSN’s Eunseo and Yeoreum with Hyolyn as the unit Ex-it. For their “KA-BOOM” performance, Hyolyn commented, “My goal is to receive the response, ‘Yeoreum and Eunseo…they’re WJSN?'”

To evaluate their progress, Ex-it’s choreographers LaChica visited their practice room. Gabee commented, “Eunseo and Yeoreum have to be more powerful. Your lines are pretty but it’s important to ruin that.” Regarding her unusual critique, Gabee added with a laugh, “We’re making these fairies do weird things.”

The final dance unit was LOONA’s Olivia Hye, Heejin, Yves, Choerry, and Brave Girls’ Eunji, who won the midterm evaluation. Before their practice with choreographer Monika, the girls expressed nerves with Yves recalling their last meeting saying, “It was the first time taking a class where I only got in trouble.”

Despite their worries, Monika proudly told them, “Well done. You practiced a lot.” She continued, “It feels like you’ve worked hard but you haven’t yet broken through that thin wall.”

Following all the dance unit stages, the final votes were announced. In third place was KEVIZ, meaning Kep1er placed third in both unit battles. Placing second was Ex-it, with Queen-I-Na winning first. With this dance unit taking the crown, both Brave Girls and LOONA scored their first win on “Queendom 2.” Since Minyoung also took second in the vocal battle, Brave Girls were awarded 4000 points (1500 for second place and 2500 for first place), their highest score jump throughout the competition.

aespa Named As One Of The “Next Generation Leaders” By TIME Magazine​

TIME Magazine has named aespa as one of their 10 “Next Generation Leaders” of 2022!

On May 12 local time, TIME Magazine unveiled their list of “Next Generation Leaders,” which highlights rising stars who are guiding the way to a brighter future. aespa is named alongside people like Olga Rudenko, the chief editor of the Kyiv Independent, Jonathan Bailey of “Bridgerton,” and YouTuber Deepica Mutyala.

The magazine caught up with aespa ahead of their Coachella performance at the end of April, which was also one of the few times aespa has performed in front of a live audience. Although the group is less than two years old, the magazine applauds aespa’s unique way of bridging the gap between reality and the virtual world with their virtual avatar counterparts, æ-aespa.

Also emphasized in the article is aespa’s global success with such a small discography, with their first mini album “Savage” debuting at No. 20 on the Billboard 200. aespa’s debut music video “Black Mamba” also surpassed 100 million views faster than any other K-pop debut.

The group elaborated on their metaverse concept, with Giselle stating that their goal is to “normalize metaverse concepts and have our fans and other people be a little more comfortable with the whole idea of it.”

Later this summer, aespa will join their SM Entertainment labelmates for their first offline agency-wide concert in three years.

Watch: Lee Jong Suk, Park Eun Bin, Jin Goo, And More Track Down The Mysterious Escapee Shin Si Ah In Chilling Trailer For “The Witch” Sequel​

The sequel film to “The Witch” has dropped a thrilling trailer!

“The Witch: Part 2. The Other One” is the sequel to “The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion,” and follows the story of a young girl who escapes a secret laboratory after being the only one to survive an accident that leaves the lab in ruins. The action film depicts the numerous forces with different motives that gather to chase down the young girl.

The new trailer showcases the escape of the young girl, played by Shin Si Ah. She emerges covered in blood from head to toe, slowly making her way around barefoot in the cold snow as someone comments, “It’s been awhile.”

Numerous forces begin to track her down and her whereabouts are described by Jang (Lee Jong Suk) as he states, “She’s lost. She walked out on her own two feet.” He adds later, “Who would have let her out?” Jo Hyun (Seo Eun Soo) adds, “We don’t know what kind of monster she’ll turn into.” On the other hand, Kyung Hee (Park Eun Bin) tries to help her, while Yong Doo (Jin Goo) watches over operations of the chase.

As different characters with different goals are introduced, a stern voice comments, “This is the child that will become the standard for this project.”

MBC’s “Doctor Lawyer” released dynamic new character posters of So Ji Sub, Im Soo Hyang, and Shin Sung Rok!

“Doctor Lawyer” is a new drama about a genius surgeon who becomes a medical malpractice lawyer after losing everything due to a rigged surgery and a prosecutor who loses her only family and lover through that same surgery. Together, they set out to punish those who believe that the importance of a person’s life can be ranked based on their wealth and power.

The newly released posters capture the dual nature of the three main characters in an impactful way. The actors’ flawless portrayals of their characters’ two different sides also raise anticipation for “Doctor Lawyer.”

In what will mark his first drama role in four years, So Ji Sub will be starring as the titular medical malpractice lawyer Han Yi Han who changed careers after a devastating incident in the operating room. His sharp gaze and the shining badge on his collar depict him as lawyer Han Yi Han. However, a closer look shows an overlapping image of him wearing a doctor’s gown with a stethoscope around his neck. The text on his poster reads, “Whether a doctor or a lawyer, there is no difference. Since a doctor saves lives, while a lawyer saves livelihoods,” raising questions about how Han Yi Han will take on two different careers and how So Ji Sub will portray this.

Shin Sung Rok portrays the mysterious Jayden Lee in contrasting ways. Jayden Lee is the head of the Asian branch of Honors Hand, a company specializing in lobby and investment, and he has the power to control everything with his words and actions. The Jayden Lee on the left side of the poster has a gentle gaze that one could easily trust, while the Jayden Lee on the right side has a cold and crazy smile. The text running across the poster reads, “The winner takes it all,” creating a chilling atmosphere.

Finally, Im Soo Hyang portrays Geum Seok Young in both an innocent and cold light. One side of the poster has a bright-eyed and smiling Geum Seok Young, while the other side depicts Geum Seok Young with a sad gaze that looks as if she is suppressing her emotions. The text on her poster reads, “As a prosecutor, my values are to be weak for the weak and to be strong against the strong.” Geum Seok Young believes that criminals are rehabilitated not through leniency but through punishment, while she is more eager to declare truly innocent defendants as innocent than even their own lawyers.

“Doctor Lawyer” will premiere on May 27 at 9:50 p.m. KST.

SBS’s upcoming drama “Why Her?” unveiled captivating new character posters!

“Why Her?” is a mystery romance drama starring Seo Hyun Jin as Oh Soo Jae, a coldhearted lawyer who has grown empty after only chasing success, and Hwang In Yeop as law student Gong Chan who will do anything to protect her.

Seo Hyun Jin’s character Oh Soo Jae is the youngest ace partner at the leading TK Law Firm. She is a cold character equipped with a flaming desire to win and fearless self-righteousness that makes her opponents kneel before her. Hwang In Yeop plays Gong Chan who has great empathy that allows him to look into other people’s hearts. However, he also has a painful past that caused his fate to become twisted. Gong Chan begins to experience a change after fatefully meeting Oh Soo Jae who has been pushed out of her position to become an affiliated professor for the law school due to an unexpected incident.

Veteran actor Heo Joon Ho plays TK Law Firm’s chairman Choi Tae Guk who openly crosses the boundary of good and evil without any hesitation if it’s to materialize his desires. Bae In Hyuk stars as the lonely law school student Choi Yoon Sang who is also the second son of chairman Choi Tae Guk.

In the new posters, the four main leads each appear with a quote that shed a light on their characters. Oh Soo Jae stares boldly ahead in a bright red suit, and the text on her poster reads, “Instead of regretting, I became resolved. To have everything,” hinting her burning desire for success.

Gong Chan couldn’t be anymore different from Oh Soo Jae, but he’s willing to do anything to protect her. The phrase “I believe… that you are a good person” that flows alongside Gongchan’s deep and lonely eyes somehow touches viewers’ hearts, and it will be exciting to find out if his sincerity will reach Oh Soo Jae as well.

Choi Tae Guk’s expression is stony without any mercy or warmth, and his poster reads, “No matter how smart you may be, you’re in the palm of my hand.” Heo Joon Ho will give a splendid performance of an all-time villain who has mysterious intentions of keeping Oh Soo Jae by his side.

Choi Yoon Sang looks lonely despite being in a sea of people, and one key point of the story will be to find out about his relationships with Oh Soo Jae, Gong Chan, and Choi Tae Guk. The text reads, “From now on, if anything happens, call me, not anyone else,” making hearts flutter with his boldness.

The drama’s producers commented, “The actors’ performances that will express the characters’ narratives and emotions are overwhelming. Please look forward to the synergy of the actors who will portray the intertwined characters in an excellent and convincing way.”

The romantic comedy stars Lee Sung Kyung as Oh Han Byul, the head of the PR team at an entertainment agency, and Kim Young Dae, as flawless top star Gong Tae Sung.
