On August 1 at midnight KST, BLACKPINK released an exciting comeback trailer announcing their plans for the coming months.

After dropping a pre-release single in August, the group will be releasing their new album in September—then embarking on a world tour beginning in October.

Notably, BLACKPINK’s upcoming return will mark their first group comeback in nearly two years: the group’s last comeback was in October 2020, when they released their first full-length album “THE ALBUM” and its title track “Lovesick Girls.”

BLACKSWAN Announces Judy And Youngheun’s Departure From Group​

BLACKSWAN’s Judy and Youngheun are officially graduating from the group.

On July 31 KST, DR Music announced that both members of BLACKSWAN would be leaving the group in order to “fulfill their new dreams.”

Earlier this year, BLACKSWAN added two new members—Sriya and Gabi—to their lineup, meaning that they will be promoting as a four-member group for the time being.

DR Music’s full English statement is as follows:

Hello, we’re DR Music.
First of all, we’d like to thank Lumina [BLACKSWAN’s fandom] for always supporting BLACKSWAN’s Youngheun and Judy, who have been members of BLACKSWAN since their debut, are graduating from BLACKSWAN today.
Since it’s such a heartbreaking decision, it is difficult for all the staff of DR Music to deliver such a message to you.
We had several discussions with Youngheun and Judy about the future over the past few months, but Youngheun and Judy decided to take a different path to fulfill their new dreams, and we also decided to respect their moves.
They debuted as BLACKSWAN in 2020 and have been working diligently from the beginning until now for the past two years, and now they are returning as Koh Young Heun and Kim Da Hye.
BLACKSWAN has been operating by introduction and graduation system from the initial planning stage. That’s how Gabi and Sriya from the first generation of Cygnus Project recently joined the group. We are happy to continue presenting various talented people from globe to you through these projects.
BLACKSWAN will be participating [in their] schedules with four existing members for a while.
Since it’s an important issue, we sincerely apologize for the delay in updating to make a careful decision and for causing concern to the fans. Lastly, please support the BLACKSWAN members and Youngheun and Judy who graduated.

Watch: HYBE/ADOR’s New Girl Group NewJeans Playfully Offers A “Cookie” In Captivating New MV​

NewJeans has officially dropped their first EP!

NewJeans is a new five-member girl group launched by ADOR, HYBE’s sub-label headed by former SM Entertainment creative director Min Hee Jin. On July 22, the group unexpectedly released their debut music video for their first title track “Attention,” and they went on to drop music videos for their second title track “Hype Boy” and their B-side “Hurt.”

On August 1 at 6 p.m. KST, NewJeans released their self-titled debut EP along with the music video for their third title track “Cookie.”

“Cookie” is a dance pop song with adorable lyrics. NewJeans commented on how a cookie can be used to persuade the person they like into approaching them first.

NMIXX brings their own twist to Rainbow's 'Kiss' for special cover song series 'Re:born Project'​

On July 31 KST, JYP Entertainment's rookie girl group unveiled their cover of Rainbow's "Kiss," a B-side off of their 2009 debut album as part of the Re:born Project. For the new version, NMIXX teamed up with production company MonoTree to add a refreshing, bouncy twist to the original. To celebrate the song's release, the group unveiled a special live performance video.

Cosmic Girls' Dayoung treats fans to retro cover of The Weeknd's 'Out Of Time'​

On July 31 KST, the Cosmic Girls member unveiled a cover of The Weeknd's hit single "Out Of Time." The retro feel of the cover version is matched with a fun lyrics video featuring city pop-inspired visuals.

Meanwhile, "Out Of Time" was originally released back in January 2022. The release included a music video notably starring 'Squid Game' actress Jung Ho Yeon.

IVE's Rei thanks fans for kind words of support as she continues COVID-19 recovery​

On July 31 KST, the IVE member took to the group members' official social media to address their fans 'DIVE,' writing, "DIVE whom I miss so, so much – It's really a shame that I'm not able to see you, but while I see all of the support ♡ that DIVE has sent me, I'm working hard to get better! Don't worry too much, and next time I'll appear in front of DIVE smiling and healthy. DIVE, I really miss and love you ♡♡♡."

Less than a day prior, Starship Entertainment announced that the IVE member had tested positive for COVID-19 after coming in contact with someone who was carrying the virus. The agency added that she had previously received three rounds of vaccination and is only experiencing a mild sore throat. She will be remaining in quarantine in accordance with government health guidelines and is taking a break from activities as she recovers.

Previously, Girls' Generation boarded a taxi and traveled 'Into The New World' in their comeback teasers. The members have now arrived one by one and are enjoying a big 'Cosmic Festa' with their new friends in an unknown world.

Running Man' production team under fire for violating disabled parking​

SBS' popular variety show 'Running Man' production team is receiving criticisms for violating disabled parking.

On the July 31st episode of 'Running Man', members were seen leaving the Seoul rock climbing center in Nanji Hangang park after receiving the mission. But viewers spotted more than members leaving for the mission.

Viewers spotted the building's parking lot occupied by staff members' cars including the disabled parking zone.

Although the said building was closed when the episode took place, some viewers pointed out that the production team still violated the handicap parking. Disabled parking violations in Korea can result in a fine of 100 thousand KRW.

Viewers expressed, "Doesn't matter if the center was closed or they rented out the whole building. They should have always left the disabled parking.", "They should have paid more attention because they are sending out the wrong message through media" and more.

Rookie girl group Rocking Doll gears up for the group's September comeback​

Rookie girl group Rocking Doll is preparing for the group's September comeback.

On July 30th, the girls of Rocking Doll finished revealing the group concept photos for their upcoming comeback. The 4-member girl group first debuted in December 2021 with 'Rocking Doll', and subsequently made their first comeback with the single 'Heart Rider'.

Rocking Doll will come back on September 19th GMT, releasing 'Survive' in both Korea and UK. Stay tuned for updates on Rocking Doll's comeback.

After receiving criticisms for violating disabled parking, the 'Running Man' team issued an apology.

On August 1st, SBS' popular variety show 'Running Man' team took to Instagram to issue an apology regarding the disabled parking violations. The team wrote,

"Hello, this is 'Running Man' production team. We have confirmed it was our staff's vehicle that was parked on disabled parking on the July 31st episode.

The production team has rented out the entire building of the Seoul rock climbing center to ensure the safety of filming and we found out that one of our staff members parked in disabled parking.

This is our team's mistake without any excuses and we are apologizing to all the viewers who love and support 'Running Man'.

We are taking accountability on this matter and we promise we will be more careful when producing content.

According to insiders on August 1st, Jimin is participating in JTBC's upcoming girl group rapper survival program titled 'The Second World'. The program will feature 8 main rappers from various girl groups including Cosmic Girls, Oh My Girl, and MAMAMOO.

This marks her first broadcast in two years since her departure from AOA.

On August 1 KST, Hani took to her personal Instagram account to share a number of photos of the full group in the middle of practicing for the group's 'EXID 2022 Japan-Final-Live Tour,' which will be promoted alongside their Japanese 'best of' album when it drops on September 2. The final photo shows a number of emojis on a phone, likely hinting at which songs will be on the setlist.

Meanwhile, EXID's Japan tour will include Tokyo on September 2, Fukuoka on September 6, Osaka on September 8, and Nagoya on September 9. The tour was originally scheduled for 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic.
