The cooler looks awesome! Is it that noisy? As in audible over whatever you are doing that makes it fully loaded.

. Not surprising though, we are dealing with a stock cooler after all. But again, it really depends on your case, distance to the user, and your threshold level as to what is acceptable. I came from intel i5 6600 65W TDP CPU paired with Cryorig H7. The H7 barely made a squeak because its more than capable in cooling the CPU without ramping the fans up. So to hear the CPU fan is something I'm not used to at the moment.
So here it was I observed as well using the stock cooler. It might be useful for those thinking of buying the Ryzen 2700X and using the stock cooler.
The fan curve for the stock cooler is quite, -for a lack of a better description, 'drastic'. What I mean is that, when the CPU is suddenly loaded with tasks, for example, opening 10 different programs in a short span of time, the stock fan will suddenly ramp up, which increases noise level for 5 seconds and then ramp down. This happens from time to time, sudden ramp, sudden ramp down. The curve is not smooth. My speculation is due to Precision Boost and XFR at work. I might be wrong in this, but the CPU algorithm is designed such that it will ramp up a couple of core to its max turbo boost and sometimes beyond the advertised turbo boost. This is precision boost and/or XFR at work. This can cause a sudden spike in temperature, which cause the stock fan to ramp up suddenly as well. And this sudden ramp up / ramp down is very noticeable. Personally I find it quite annoying. I haven't found a way to smoothen the curve yet.
so there ya go for those curious as to how the wraith prism behaves.
P.S. By the way you can control the RGB of the Prism with Asus Aura Sync. Coordinating the RGB LED of the motherboard, CPU cooler and the G.Skill Trident Z ram sticks is pretty awesome. This is my first time actually seeing it in action. If you have an Asus GPU, or RGB LED strip even better!
