Just gotten my new setup

Ryzen 5 1600 with 16GB Gskill ram.

Yet my com lags when using chrome. Even as I open HWZ, the chrome stutters when i scroll or try to key in. Any reason for that? Or is Chrome bad?

Also when playing unknown battlegrounds, with a GTX 1070, I am getting only 30-40 ++ FPS with just middle setting and a 23" monitor... can't imagine what will be the FPS when my new monitor which is 27" arrives...

Is my setup too lousy to play unknown battlegrounds? :(

Have you tried Microsoft edge?

Unknown Battleground doesnt even play well with modern 1080ti. It is so badly optimized. Apart from that it is both RAM hogger and also VRAM hogger on the gpu

Me got around 70+ at 1440p using medium settings. Same gtx 1070 but i5 6600k. And yes, chrome is weird. Been using Firefox.

Chrome is not the issue, website is...

Have you tried installing uBlock Origins? HWZ has about 15 trackers/scripts running plus a lot of adverts, causing unnecessary lag.

Websites like Reddit, Google, Youtube are well optimized without system resource bogging scripts running in the background to track you. See if it lags when you're on there.

Another way is to disable Hardware Acceleration in Chrome.

Lately I've had lags on HWZ as well, regardless of the PC or Mac I use.

No problem using lastest Windows 10 updates and chrome on a 6 yr old pc smooth as butter.

Try updating your gfx driver

Try the Ryzen Balanced power plan preloaded in the current chipset drivers.

Also can try experimental features in chrome://flags like
rzeTsRY.png

Its not a cure all, makes my droid run web pages faster but cause occasional hard locks. No issue on Windows with this for me, even 5 year old laptop. And maybe the web page prefetching might help.

So far no issues with chrome. Fast, except its a ram hog.

As many have already said, low fps in pubg is due to poor optimisation, not because of lousy hardware or drivers. I get ~60 avg on medium.

Anyway, a 1600X and 1060 will give you a solid playable experience. Go for the 6GB version, you'll need the vram.
