Just built my first ever AMD Build and I'm facing my first issue.

I'm currently using Ryzen 5 3600, with AMD WRIATH Prism Cooler (The square rgb thingy)

My temps during idle in aircon rooms are 56, even when i am typing this, it spikes up to 60degree. (This is done with the case open, without any tempered glass.)

Also, I noticed that the clock speed is constantly running above 4000mhz, is that normal? It occasionally droped to 3.8, then it bouce back up instantly.

My CPU load is like 12-15% base on NZXT CAM software.

Then the wraith prism sounds like its gonna take off, are these temps normal?:s22:

You check via Ryzen Master? It's normal, the average idle temp around 50 deg.

When I'm in bios, it shows the temps to be around 43.

But when I log into the system, through my nzxt Cam, it shows 60-80

I'll try the ryzen master

Just checking, but are you using the stock wraith stealth, or the wraith prism (stock for 2700x, 3700x,etc)?

The latter should be around 45-50C on idle. You can change the fan curve in the bios if you want something cooler (but noiser)

I'm using 3600 as well and PBO is enabled in my bios.

For normal usage like surfing Web or watching anime/Netflix, i will change my power plan to "power saver" and half of my cores will be "sleeping".

the rest of the cores dropped to 2+ghz with temps ard 30+ degree using AIO (nzxt kraken).

Only when gaming i will set the power plan to "amd high performance" and all cores will be "awake" and boost to 4.1ghz (ard 70+ degree).

Not sure will it dmg my cpu in the long run though by switching power plans to up and down the voltage.

Mine is about 41-42C idle. Light usage about 45-46C on average. Running cinebench R20 single core is 60-62C and 77-79C for multi-core. Temperature goes down by about 2-3C in air-con.

Just got my AGESA 1.0.0.4b so 4/6 cores can boost to 4.2ghz liao. Previously, none can hit lol.

Your aio is 120 or 240? And what games are you playing. 70c is high for an aio.

How comes R5-3600 has Wraith Prism cooler? By default, should Wraith Stealth.

can buy from a 3700x user :s8:

p.s., if set CPU voltage below 1.05v it will stop the tempture spike. For me I am using my 3600 at 1.03v 3600MHz daily, this is the stable combination for my CPU and I got it saved in BIOS. if needed, I can set to higher voltage and freq use Ryzen Master, without reboot machine.
Your CPU may be better as I tested if disable the two weak cores of my CPU I can run 0.97v 3600MHz and 1.05v 3800Mhz stable. (stable here I mean can run Prime95 smallFFTs without thread drop)

Kinda like the design, and found a good deal. Then I bought it loh.

But the annoying thing about the temps is,

When I'm in the bios, my pc sound perfectly normal, but when using for basic web browsing, it starts revving up like some plane engine.

I tried using power saver, but it's still revving up leh 😕.

In bios the temps are stable at 43-45

Ya. Kinda high. Mine is 240. Not sure if it's due to my thermal paste.

Temps are between 68 degrees to 73 degrees when playing triple A titles like Ffxv, ghost recon breakpoint, division 2 etc, with fan and pump speed set at 100%.

But the AIO and fans are about 2-3 yrs liao. Maybe weak liao due to wear and tear. Lol.

You can try to replace thermal paste. You got clean your aio or not? Inside will trapped dust. Time to do some cleaning haha
