Ryzen 5 3600 Temps/Clock Speed.

Can use hwinfo + RTSS or msi afterburner which already includes RTSS already to monitor gpu and cpu temp in game. No need to alt tab.

Or another easier way to do this is you can just use hwinfo running in the background. Then alt tab and check hwinfo and you can see the avg temp of cpu and gpu for the past few mins that hwinfo has been running. Very useful can even see power consumption, clock speed etc lots of info. Look at the average tab. Also got average fps tab.

Mine is about 41-42C idle. Light usage about 45-46C on average. Running cinebench R20 single core is 60-62C and 77-79C for multi-core. Temperature goes down by about 2-3C in air-con.

Just got my AGESA 1.0.0.4b so 4/6 cores can boost to 4.2ghz liao. Previously, none can hit lol.

So is Temp flunctuation normal for Ryzen CPU? or does it mean something is wrong?

E.g. Temps bounce up to 60 even when mouse is moving around or watch video , chrome etc. 40degree bouce to 60 degree, jump back down in 1s or less.

After jumping around so many online places, below are the possible reasons/solution that i could find.

1. Motherboard brands/bios affects the temps causing it to flunctuate

2. Set custom fan curve. E.g. anything before 70Degree, let the fan run normally, once it hit aboe 75, run 100% or smth. Is it normal for Ryzen Cpu to have its temps flunctuate for even minor tasks?

3. Voltage?

4. Power setting, I've set mine to power saver, no difference.


Anyone have any other possible reasons or fixes that they could share? Would really appreciate it. I guess if it's normal, then the custom fan curve would be fine.

Stock cooler you can't expect excellent temperatures , only ok temperatures.
If you so concern abt temp you would have bought a decent cooler or improve airflow in your chassis.

I have the same issue as u initially. Temp and voltage are all over the place, even in idle or low workload stage like browsing Web. Cores are constantly boosting with voltage ard 1.4v.

After updating the bios and the amd chipset driver, I set to power saver, the voltage dropped and half the cores are "asleep".

Another way is to use ryzen master to lower ur voltage so that the temp is not that high?

yep. switch to Balanced plan and use CPU-Z to check voltage/speed instead of using monitoring software.

Have you tried auto OC + 200?

My 3600 doesnt even boost past 4175 single core but i was able to push 4.2ghz all core at 1.30v. Ideally i want 4400 2cores for gaming. using h100i. idle 30-40c. gaming @50-60c. Cinebench @ 84-87.

i use -0.1v offset + auto oc reduces temp by 10c on cinebench but all core will be 4ghz at most.
