Ryzen or Intel for upgrade??

Hi butties, its been a long time since i upgrade my PC

I am looking for upgrade my Motherboard, processor and Ram

- Ryzen 5 3700X or i7 9700k
- Need recomendation
- 16gd 3200mhz Ram

I read lots of Ryzen issues on reddit and online.. Lots of probelms on Boot time and unstable issue...

I am not tech savy.. just want to pay n use.. lol hope got no probelms!

Any butties can recommend me? my budget for the upgrade is about $1.2k

i7 9700k if you dont want to deal with all those issues with Ryzen.

I 3rd Intel. You won't have to deal with ryzen issues. Since intel has been out for a while liao, they are more stable.

Don't know if Intel stock in SG got any price cut or not. Must thank ryzen for price cuts.

16gb RAM, G.Skill or Corsair is good. Many kits at Sim Lim you can choose.

i am using 2 monitors,(2k gaming monitor & normal dell monitor) mostly playing Black desert online and OBS streaming.

watching youtube/netflixs while playing games at the same time.

my current i5-7500 cant handle it.. always lag my netflix while i game ☹

Since you will doing lots of multi-tasking, I would recommned Ryzen.

3600 or 3600x should be more than sufficient.
3700x only if you are planning to run productivity software in the future.

If you don't want to wait for Ryzen 3rd gen fixes ( happens to any new product launch ), can save some money and go for last gen CPU like 2600/2600x or 2700

I don't see the point though as AMD has been quite proactive in updates base on my personal experience. Haven't had major issues personally with AM4 platform though.

For the Ryzen 3xxx series, the issues are a result of it being new. If you read about the launch of Intel 9xxx series, it was rushed out and had its fair share of problems. I've used both Ryzen 1xxx and 2xxx series and don't face any problems with long boot up times. Also to be honest, when you say 25 secs is long, how fast is the average boot time you are comparing this with? Typically from the moment you press the power button to the computer booting into Windows, I don't think 25 secs is that long, though its not the shortest.
