Hi,

My Onkyo RZ840 receiver is going into standby mode and showing "DET.Protect :V" error. I tried clearing the error and clearing the whole system setting but no luck, the error persists. Seems my new splitter is culprit which might have pumped in more DC power to the hdmi.

Should i bring this to Onkyo service center or are there any recommended repair shops that i can get this one fixed?

I went to hwee seng a few years ago to fix my 818 AVR before as my menu selection keep on toggle by itself to another source. The repair cost is reasonable. Less than $100. I am not so sure whether they are still the official warranty repair centre.

1 thing to note. The service centre is at level 2 and the lift level is 1.5. Which mean u have to carry the heavy bulky AVR a few stairs .

Thanks for the info. Think i will bring it there in a day or two unless someone else has other tips. Much appreciated.

I think your HDMI board might be fried. Hwee Seng is still the agent for Onkyo, my Z820 had a distorted rear channel previously and Hwee Seng repaired it at a reasonable charge.

I took the small lift and the lift directly sent me to level 2.
