Ok, I have tried out many S4 sets from different places.

Findings,

This latest technology machine I have tried basically is slow, laggy and screen quite unresponsive intermittently, as compared to Note II

Somehow rather, the built factor is not there as it is too light, therefore maybe resulting in lack of quality components in the unit as compare to Note II.

As you run in a few more programs, the more laggy she will becomes.
Even I find the S3 is much more lively and responsive than the S4.

Not worth the $998 at this moment, unless they come out with more quality firmware to resolve this laggy, unresponsive issues.

The Note II is indeed a much much better phone.

Anyone agrees?

i deciding between getting note 2 and s4.... haha =:p

The note II can simply take anything you throw at it, and run it with great entertainment and pleasure.

But for the S4, has been quite a huge disappointment after so much hype was given to her. It was so different, the more you play with her, the more u will find her running out of breathe.

The note II can only get better and better as more latest firmware keep on going to perfect her, whereas the S4 still have a long way to go.

I somewhat felt the same way. But couldn't justify why it would lag when it has a better processor. Maybe 1080p rendering?

Sekali they update Note 2 with the same features/bloat as S4 then can all suffer together then you know. :D

In time to come there will be an update for s4. Samsung has taken so much effort to topple apple and certainly wont let their flagship product fail.

For sure.

But first impression is not going to be good. :(

For those who remember, the very first Galaxy S was an epic POS in terms of lag (in retrospect S4 "lag" is heaven compared to it). S2 fixed it majorly. S3 (initial non-LTE sets) brought it back because of 1gb of ram. S4 just piled on the whacky stuff that even 2gb of ram can't solve. :(

Wa, to me, this is comparing apples and oranges la. Maybe I am lucky but so far I don't find S4 laggy but just too small compared to Note II. However the features (esp in the camera) are pretty good, as are the smart pause and airview using thumb...what is it called, thumbview?

I find some of the new features introduced in the S4 gimmickly. Most people won't probably use them. The most use would be to show off to friends.

I believe the main reason for the lagginess is due to Samsung incorporating the numerous features. But this is no excuse on the part of Samsung and I feel that they should have done better in this respect instead of trying to push out more features at the expense of causing the phone to lag.

I find that the screen of s4 is smaller as compared to note 2. The hd resolution is just a promotional gimmie. I dun think the human eye can tell its difference from note 2. The s4 is still buggy and it does not have a stylus. To me, the price tag does not justify buying of the s4 at this moment. Note 2 is just as good for me now if I were to choose between the 2.

If you feel that the s4 screen is not a difference from note 2 then that means you never really take a good look at it. Its a lot of difference between the 2 of them and how samsung rearranged the pixels.

Having used Note 2 before, i still find my current S4 snappier in launching apps and GUI.

Have both the note 2 and s4. Comparing side by side, note 2 is definitely much smoother and less laggy than s4. Just do a quick scroll of hwz home page and you will know what I mean. For big webpage, s4 starts having things popping out first, but note 2 seems to complete the loading before s4. Both sharing the same wifi.

s4 screen is definitely much better than note 2, as in you can really see the difference in ppi when surfing, but if you like to hold your phone further away from you, then actually not much difference in day to day usage. 0.5" difference in screen size is very very significant.

End of the day, I will say note 2 more worth it at current price.

Still prefer note 2 because of the screen size.. S4 is significantly smaller as compared to Note 2. Has switched from iPhone 5 with superb "retina screen" to Note 2 recently because of screen size and not screen resolution..

Personally, I think S4 HD screen is nicer.. But given the current pricing of note 2, it is more worthwhile..

I like Note 2 for the sheer screen size. But this screen size is also what I dislike at times. I love it when I'm actually using the phone but hate it when its in my pocket. Hahaha it fits into most pockets but at times when you need to bend down or raise your legs, the phone gets in the way.

I also love the S Pen and the S Note. Love taking screen shots and then scribbling on the screen shot to highlight particular points. Extremely useful. Also, sometimes, its better to draw notes than type as it brings the point across much easily.

The battery on the Note 2 is also amazing....! I've never had a phone with such awesome battery life and until now, there's still no phone in the local market with comparable specs and battery at the same time. LG probably ..but its not available locally yet.

Having said all these, I'm still slightly craving for the s4. Not for the gimmicky features, but more so for the camera and custom developer support! The custom ROM scene for Note 2 LTE is pathetically small. I'm hoping with the S4, albeit still a LTE model, there will be more custom ROM support..

No issue with S4 lag - just switch off all the air gestures and other bloatware. Lag is due to the front facing camera always recording your actions (eyes/hands) in front of it. Battery life will improve greatly too.

What about Motorola maxx series battery life? Heard it packs punch and takes beating.
