S9+ screen flickering, anyone also kena?

Hi all,

Just asking if there are others also encountered S9+ screen flickering issue like me, maybe after installing the april 2020 security patch update? I am only guessing as it happens soon after that.

Green tint, damaged screen? It's happening to all the S9/Note9 series phones recently. Samsung won't own up. Speaks volume about their lack of integrity.

my guessing is that they purposely rolled out such s/w upgrade to hoodwink consumers making people think it is hardware failure due to old age to buy newer models (might not be buying their brand though). If so, it is too unethical.

i guess yours might not be affected? if u still using this phone, did u try to lower the brightness to see it helps? My s9+ if using that method, the screen is fine. If i selected higher brightness level, the issue will appear

Mine look like this. My blue light filter is off. I increase the brightness or decrease it, the screen still look very yellowish with faint lines.

Increasing brightness level will make it worse, try lowering it more than your current level. Mine looks fine with low level brightness

my galaxy s10+ screen had this problem too. lasted for 1 year plus only....

i get this issue after the update pushed on 20 Apr, worst case for me is the whole screen black out with a few green lines on top

went to the forum and see some brilliant suggestions to turn on AOD (always on display) to omit 90% of the occurrences but still there's still 10% it will happen when u need the display urgently

Hi all, yesterday my phone was disastrous as the symptom hit me again

Anyone went to service centre to get a diagnose of the issue? I went to outside shop and they just charge me $200+ to change the display screen

you encountered the same issue? managed to see the screen only if i adjust the brightness to the lowest

Had the issue some 2 firmware updates away. Initially thought it was a hw issue (green lines on top of screen, can't see sxxt).

My wife and I then changed to note 10... when using the phones as spare we updated to the latest fw and the issue went away.

Weird.. whats the version in your phone when u mentioned 2 firmware away? For me, the firmware that killed my s9 is the apr security patch

i heard of users who flash the firmware to earlier version but the issue still persist

I cant remember now. Sorry. Should be the 2nd 1 leading up to Android 10.

Also, the issue could be replicated easily by turning the screen of an on in quick succession. Even a reboot replicates the issue since it actually turns off and on the lcd.

Speaking with my friend who works at a mobile shop, at the time when I was facing the fault, he did say he had many series 9 hand phones which were all facing the same issue.

actually now my screen also working fine but if i turn on/off the display using the power on buttons, the symptoms will come back. so i believe it's to do with the hardware
