Just returned from BKK, safe and sound!

According to the locals (spoke to a few taxi-drivers and the concierge at hotel), avoid the area which is closer to the political buildings (nearer to Asiatique, riverfront) which may have some small protests. The local daily in Bangkok also reported a rally on 10 Dec 2013 which would be held outside Bangkok that expects attendance of some 10,000 people.

We visited the Maeklong Railway Station, Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, Siam Area (Siam Paragon, Siam Square, Siam Centre, Central World, MBK), Chinatown, Sikhumvit, Thong Lo, Asoke, Phrom Phong and the weekend Chatuchak market. It was peaceful throughout and felt completely safe throughout our trip. Nice friendly people, AWESOME food!

riots starting tomorrow.

Suthep the protest leader said it'll begin on 9 December, 9.39am
Anyone who doesn't support and join them is considered not part of them

The Opposition party MPs just mass resigned a few hours ago and Abishit(Opposition leader and ex-PM(short while) is probably going take charge of protests now.

We will only know tomorrow and it's probably going to carry on till 10 as Tuesday is a public holiday for them.

I FULLY AGREE on this. Thumbs up !

Sry bro, do not agree with you on this.

Some have booked tour prior to this protest. Some are going with old folks and kids, so they do worry....if going there as a single with no additional baggages...of coz can go w/o worry....:D

Reached my hotel using airport rail and BTS. Saw lots of protestors. But everyone smiling. No issues whatsoever. So far so good.
