SAFRA membership

i called to cancel my membership in early feb.. they tell me it will take 1 month to process and 1 week to mail to me... its been a month plus and i've been very patient with them... called their CSO, n she tells me that there are 2 person in charge to sign off before they can send the cheque out...


the way i see it.. i dun think i'll ever see my $$ back since it takes 5 mins to process new subscribers and years to refund nonsubscribers..

anyone here can assist me?

just to share my part of experience.

i noe safra membership is Auto renewal, unless u inform them sumwhere in april on ur expire date..which is such a hassle.

i send them email to a few of safra email ( can be found on the website i tink)..saying smthing like dis

after which i replied yes and their reply was

Dear $%^&*,

We regret that you have decided to resign from SAFRA and your membership will be terminated after 31 March 2012.

As per your requests, we have excluded you from all future auto renewal deductions.

For your information, NSmen who are transferred to Singapore Civil Defence Force or Singapore Police Force in the future will no longer be eligible to rejoin SAFRA.

Thank you for your past support to SAFRA.

send email...as least u gt "proof", if they never reply...send them reminder email..saying smthing like

" i refer to my ealier email dated...... which no response were given by you.".

i write a formal letter to inform them...

didnt know they will auto renewal for me... went for ict and found out they auto renewal for me... less than 6 mths...

Yup I also experienced the same problem. They just auto renew for me and deducted money from my account.

If you have a GIRO account with the bank, cancel the standing order as well for the SAFRA deduction. This way its a double precaution just in case they email say they have already canceled but have not done so.

Start of 2nd year of ur NS liability? And expire about a year later? I don't think will auto renew.

But the free card from what I understand doesn't let you buy GV tixs at a cheaper price

My free SAFRA from NS45 expiring Mar 2014 so I emailed them liao to say don't auto renew.

I wonder where they deduct the funds when they auto renew. My SAFRA is FOC one not that I signed up for it before, so they will not have my bank details.

Pretty sure every NSmen will have a bank account that you used during your NS days where they can bank in your allowance, then RT/IPPT or any other sort of makeup pay. They deduct from there lor.

After 1 week they never reply I send them this:
I refer to my previous e-mail a week earlier.
I wish to terminate my SAFRA membership with immediate effect.
As a passing remark, I think that the small print that entails SAFRA to “auto-renew” membership to be utterly repulsive.
I speak for the thousands of others who, like me, have no intention to “renew” their membership yet get $40 ripped off from them.
It speaks badly of SAFRA’s dishonesty in doing business and reflects badly on their ethics, ripping off the poor ns-man who gave 2 years of their life to this country.
