Hi berlow grats on the NP8662!

BTW u can easily get the plug head swapped at an electronics shop, or if u noe a EE or EEE friend it's a simple swap and the plug head can be easily purchased from a electronics shop or weekend pasar malam.

Wat's ur configuration? Care to share benchmarks and the like?

One thing u'll never get used to is the stiff touchpad mousebuttons. Better get a USB mouse.

finally got my 8662 lappie today at 8 pm. according to the delivery guy he still got 2 more deliveries. business is brisk.

the package came with what was promised except the power plug adaptor. disappointing. luckily i found my travel adaptor. the no name bag look el cheapo, something u might get at a family day freebie. the lappie is a bit hot under the right wrist as i type but otherwise after running for an hour on my zalman 1500 the report from HZmonitor are as follows:

No matter how i compare the prices versus the specifications against the consumer favourite models, sager laptops are still pretty expensive?

Sager is high end laptop. You would be comparing it with a Gaming Laptop . If compare to a netbook of course it expensive.

Try finding first another non-Sager notebook with a 260M equivalent or better graphics processor.

Next - compare the price. If you can honestly finding something better + cheaper, I think a lot of people here would love to know.

everything that came with the $ i paid.

. no $20 challenger voucher though.

the el-cheapo laptop bag.

i opted for the q9000 with 4GB ram so the vista home premium is preinstalled 64 bit
the hitachi travelstar is a blessing as i read that this model uses less power.

the only complaint thus far is the optical drive. noisy as a bee. the humming is really loud. dunno if anyone else got this issue?

you need more research to make that statement :D

this thread is a proof that more and more customers who wants gaming laptops prefer sager than other brands which offer same specs and had a lot of hidden cost:s22:

Ahem... u're looking at the wrong laptops and comparing apples with oranges.

Look at Dell's or MSI's or ASUS's offerings for their 9800-series gaming laptops. For example the ASUS GT627 which is powered by a 9800GS chip. It's SGD$2.7k, $200 more than an equivalently built Sager except powered by a 260M chip which is more powerful than the 9800GS.

9800GT or GTX? Expect to pay $3k or more from those brands.

1st partition = Storage ( Music, videos, etc)
2nd parition = Main windows and programs
