Hi, My exact travel dates for tokyo is 30th Apr - 3rd May. So even i want to be flexible also only around this 4 days, cause after that will head down to kansai part liao~ u think, doable for the aomori part?

What are your exact travel dates?

Follow the cherry blossom front when you are there.
News channels/websites will be reporting the cherry blossom come late March/early April.

Best advise is to keep your travel plans flexible.

Any idea what time does the food stalls (if any) open during hanami season at ueno park?
Or should I just buy food elsewhere for the picnic?

Tokyo to Aomori is 3 hours+ by Shinkansen ,a day trip is definitely possible.

I save $$ by buying 1.5 liter green tea / mochi like /
bento from nearby supermarket ( not 7-11 ) before I set out for my day.

Okay thanks!

I was hoping to experience the food stall festival experience....

Any recommendations on which Sakura spots that have these?
Either Tokyo Kyoto or Osaka :s12:

I just returned from Kawazu Sakura festival last week and they have sakura and many food stalls there too. But since the sakura in Kawazu blooms much earlier than Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka, so they should probably be wilting by now.
Peak blooming period is usually around end Feb.
Kawazu is about 2-3 hours by train from Tokyo.

Maybe something for u to consider for your future trip...

Yasakuni should have. It's the third one in the list - Chidorigafuchi
I prefer it over ueno.

that is almost 7hr of travelling! personally i find tt too time consuming and expensive for a day trip. will be better to stay at least a night and explore the area

Sadly no time to go Saitama this trip.
13 days Tokyo Kyoto Osaka. Only 1 empty day in Tokyo for hanami viewing.

Good thing is I should be able to see sakuras in all 3 places.

Almost an hour!

i was thinking of going to Ueno and Chidorigafuchi on that day.
Should be enough Sakura for a day :s13:

Then will be going to Kyoto for 3 days for more sight seeing and sakuras.

Osaka...probably only seeing sakuras at the Expocity :s12:

I will be at northern Tohoku/Hakodate April 30 / May 1 staying at Toyoko Inn Aomori.

But I may travel from Tokyo to Hirosaki earlier as a day trip if the peak is on April 25/26.

Haha , just using my JRP.
