just got back from tokyo on sat
saw the early sakaru blossom at Ueno park and Sumida Park![]()
ya………….the blooms peak around 7 days after the initial blooms and then DIE down very quickly…
in Tokyo, the first blooms were spotted on around 19th, and so the PEAK will be this weekend…….just nice as I am flying off tomorrow night to Tokyo…
damn, I'm only flying off next week.
Hopefully still have some![]()
still too early I think... only 5 clusters on a tree in Nagoya?
the weather is going for a chill into the middle of the week. it will warm up by the end of next week. maybe it is better then!
Staying at Ueno APA hotel with window overlooking the lake. Can see a few pink trees but mostly bare now. The street infront of the temple is lined up with stalls and the nearby shops are selling hanami sets/bento.
Flying on thursday morning but reaching at night, hope my friend and I can catch it at full bloom. When I planned this trip, I totally forgot about the Cherry Blossoms. I guess it's a blessing in disguise that I chose the right time. Must buy Toto/4D!
How's the weather? Is it cold?
Day time is tolerable but night time is quite chilling. Turn colder today. I have 3 layers, outer leather jacket, sweater and t-shirt underneath. Bought the sweater from Decathlon at $11, plan to jettison when heading back if out of luggage space.
I went through the entrance near Amekiyo and saw more blooms, about 20%, compare to the lake which is pretty bare.
